Warrior General Games

Come on already. We need to get server side tournaments. They can cost flex - and increase revenue - increase forum activity - and lots of other stuff. Trophies would be nice too.


What kind of tournaments?

My ideas but I'm sure there are others:

- Tier wide tourney that would likely last 1-2 weeks with games on off days (duration would limit # of entries but that is ok) these would be 'open' - anyone could join.

- Tier wide invite only

- Single day tourneys. Could be 4 or 8 teams - and they would play out over the course of a single day. Staggered every hour or whatever.

- 2-3 off day tourneys - one (possibly sometimes 2) games per day.

I'm sure there are lots of other ideas. Let's do this.

One watch out, the well could be poisoned by offering too many tournaments. It decreases the value/efforts to win one if they are going on/off every day. Dare I say "Mighty Brawlers" style.

I like the idea of having 4 game tourneys on the off day. That way you could have games sim 6-8 hours apart from each other and it would give us time to GP for the next opponent. Each team would have to sign up before rollover the night before(League Gameday).

This would be fantastic!

My idea is a Midseason Classic, taking the top 16 overall teams, and the top 16 teams in each tier and running games starting on the off day following the 7th league games, and running games the following 3 off days. A trophy should be awarded to the winners. Not only would this give guys another trophy to covet, it could help hash out the ladder rankings at midseason. We could even have tourneys for the lower ranked teams too (ex. #17-#32 in each tier could be thrown together, or even a mix where the 1-32 teams play two tourneys even rankings in one and odd in the other) lots of fun ways this can be instituted.

I like the off day so probably wouldn't be signing up for tournaments every off day, but I would like to see a tournament at the end of the season to determine who the real #1 of each tier is. Maybe a 16 team single elimination tourny starting the first off day after the regular season concludes. Seed each team at that point using the ladder rankings for the tier.

The ladder system sucks currently as the top teams never play each other in each tier.

I'd like a tier wide, single elimination format Playing on the off day, running so that the final will be just before the playoffs.
