The Hartford Mavericks have moved to Portland Maine, where they will play in a new stadium wearing new team colors. Last year the Mavericks won their division with a 7 -7 record and lost in the league championship after upsetting the Rage in the semi-finals. When asked about the move to Portland, Coach/Owner AGerm replied, "Portland is a great city. We look forward to playing some great football for our new fans. Our goal is to make it back to the big game and hopefully bring a trophy home to Portland. We will have to work hard but we are up for the challenge."

Week 1's Bold Predictions Go Bold or Go Home!

Trinity Titans at San Jose Pit Bulls ~ The Titans are heavily favored to take the bite out of the Pitbulls.
Houston Roofers at Oklahoma Green Machines ~ The Green Machine will win their home opener running rough shod over the Roofers.
Jamestown Red Raiders at Chi Town Chupacabras ~ The Red Raiders drew the short stick having to play the defending champs in week 1. Tough luck Red Raiders
Minnesota Turtles at Washington Wildcats ~ The Wildcats were 10 - 4 last season. They are kicking off the season versus a CPU team and better win this one too.
Portland Mainiacs at Boston Blizzard ~ This has the makings of a defensive slobber-knocker. It should come down to any of the following...home field advantage, coaching or the dreaded RNG
The GOTW is New Orleans Knuckleheads at Guildford Raiders
We give the edge to the Raiders passing attack over a weaker Knucklehead pass defense.

Trinity HB Nigel Quake punched it in for 2 touchdowns on the ground. Linebacker Vincent Womack lead the Titan defense with 4.5 sacks. The Titan D held the pitiful Pit Bulls to 110 total yards. (22 on the ground and 88 in the air) Next week 1 - 0 Trinity plays 1 - 0 0klahoma in a key divisional matchup and the Pit Bulls play against the 0 - 1 Roofers.

The Oklahoma Green Machines marched over the Houston Roofers 23 - 0. Oklahoma QB Benjamin MacMiller completed 48% of his passes for 1 touchdown and ran for 1. The Green Machines had 3 100 yards rushers (Benjamin MacMiller, Pepper Joe and Jamal Lewis) DE Jamison Isaacs led the Green Machine defense with 4.5 sacks, 2 hurries and a forced fumble. The Green Machine defense held the Roofers to 198 yards. (43 rushing, 155 passing) The 1 - 0 Green Machines go to 1 - 0 Trinity for a key divisional match up. The Roofers go to San Jose for a divisional game that they need to win.

The New Orleans Knuckleheads beat the Guildford Raiders 13 - 6. Guildford could not run the ball on the Knuckleheads. The Raiders had -5 yards on 17 runs. The Knuckeheads sacked the Raiders' Quarterbacks 11 times taking pressure off of the their secondary and making this sports writer eat some crow pie. One touchdown on the ground from HB Zoomer Zoom and 2 field goals was good enough for the win. Next week the 1 -0 Knuckleheads play the 0-0-1 Blizzard in what looks like another defensive fight. The Raiders face off against the 0-0-1 Portland Maniacs. If the Raiders hope to win they better find some offense.

The Chi Town Chupacabras prevail over the Jamestown Red Raiders 28 -21. This was another great game between 2 top tier teams. Jamestown scored first on a 1 yard touchdown run by HB Power Perfect. The Chupacabres closed the first quarter with a 7 yard touchdown pass from QB Corey Cram to WR Aaron Beaulieu. The Raiders took the lead back with a 3 yard touchdown pass from QB Quicy Banner to TE JT Vaccaro. The Chupacabras tied the game before the end of the first half with another touchdown pass from Cram to WR Jordan Allen this time. The Chupacabras took their first lead of the game with Cram's third touchdown pass. This time to WR Victor Cruz. The Red Raiders fought back to tie the game with a touchdown pass from Banner to TE David Bowker. The Chupacabras won the game on Cram's fourth TD pass this time to HB Christian Little. Next week the Chupacabras play the Minnesota Turtles in a joke of a match up. The question is not who will win but by how many points. The Red Raiders have a tougher but winnable match up versus the 1 - 0 Washington Wildcats.

The Washington Wildcats beat the Minnesota Turtles 35 - 0. Wildcat QB Wildcat Yento was the star of the game. He completed 62% of his passes for 169 yards and 3 touchdowns, while running for 248 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Wildcat defense help the Turtles to 73 yards. (27 rushing, 446 passing) Next week the Wildcats match up versus the 0 - 1 Jamestown Red Raiders who will prove to be a much more challenging opponent.

The Portland Maniacs versus the Boston Blizzard. This game was everything it was slated to be.
QB Comparison
Tommy Gunn 52% 156 yards 2 touchdowns
Russell Dixon 64% 118 yards 1 touchdown 1 interception

HB Comparison

Next week the Blizzard plays 1 - 0 Knuckleheads in what should be another great game.
The Mainiacs face off against the 0 -1 Guildford Raiders in a must win match for both teams.

Week 2's Bold Predictions Go Bold or Go Home!

We were right about 5 out of the 6 games that we called.

This week we make the following predictions...

Houston Roofers win at San Jose Pitbulls.
In the GOTW the Trinity Titan passing attack beats the Oklahoma Green Machines ground and pound game plan.
The Boston Blizzard wins a close one against the New Orleans Knuckleheads.
The Chi Town Chupacabres go to 2 - 0 versus the Minnesota Turtles.
The Red Raiders earned a lot of respect for how tough they played the defending Champs. For this reason, we pick the Jamestown Red Raiders to find a way to neutralize Wildcat Yento and win a close and exciting game.
Last year, the Guildford Raiders beat the Portland Mainiacs. This year our home town heroes are looking for revenge. We pick the Mainiacs to win in a smash-mouth battle.

Whew it was a close one, but the Knuckleheads passé pass defense had JUST enough oomph to stop the Blizzard. GG Bliz!

GG! Took more chances on the outside runs that hurt us I believe and your pass D shut us down as well. Hopefully we'll get you next time.

The Titans will remain undefeated, easily handling the Roofers.

The Red Raiders will pick up their first W against the terrible Turtles.

Chi Town will provide the rest of the league blue-prints showing how to stop Wildcat Yento.

We have to pick our Mainiacs to win a close one versus the Knuckleheads.
