I have my pass rush DE's "Player Tactics" set to "Evasive". However, they do not evasively rush the QB every play. Many times they power rush. They should be rushing the QB the "round about way" on every play. Here are 2 examples.

Evasive rush (LDE):

Power rush (LDE):

It's cause Xars has 70 snap reaction on that OT. The OT came up and was in your DE's face enough to cause the DE to try and clinch. If you frame-by-frame you'll see his OT get right up in the face of the DE.

The DE's first instinct isn't to pass rush 1-way or the other, it takes a moment for him to remember his tactics. If you watch this one, http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/139385/844930 you can also see frame-by-frame the DE turns left at the last second but is already being sucked into a clinch.

Same with this play,http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/139385/844973 the OT beats your DE on the snap by a frame, and budges forward, drawing your DE into a blocking interaction.

I believe pursuit reduces the aura at which your DE will get coerced into a blocking interaction. That's just a theory, but I feel as though pursuit helps minimize the instinct to clinch up with a guy. How much pursuit does your guy have?

Good point...he has 51 pursuit right now but will max it out.

That's a fair amount for a lineman. But maybe if he's rushing evasive you'd want more. Interesting to think about. Typically DE's are just combo or power, to get a spin cycle triggered asap.
