Alright Monrovers. I was great last week with my picks, hold the applause though. Let's see if I can do it again. Week 12, some serious play-off implication games here today. Let's get down to business.
(0-11) Orlando Warriors v (3-8) Drunken RedZone Zombies
The home team here hasn't had much to celebrate this year. A few ladder wins are the only high points of the season. Not sure if the players or the play-calling is to blame, but changes need to happen if this team means to stay together next year. Drunken let me down last week, but I don't see them doing it again. Drunken takes it, 38-7
(7-4) Jersey Goons v (6-5) D.C. Corrupt Politicians
GAME OF THE WEEK
The Goons lost a game they sorely needed to win last week. Now the Politicians are knocking on the division's door. Sugar Honey Ice Tea has been playing lights out all season long. His only blemish this season, a stunning 3 point effort in a loss to the Goons in week 2. If the Politicians could shore up their defense they would be legit title contenders. In the mean time, expect this one to be a shoot out. The play-off implications of this game alone make it worth watching, but this will be a good one to boot. I'm taking the upset here. D.C. pulls it out 48-35
(7-4) Drinkin Hellraisers v (10-1) MMArmy Can Crushers
If there could be a second game of the week, it would be this one. Two Pro tier juggernauts squaring off, ranked third and second respectively. Very evenly matched teams with high powered offenses. Look for Stobie to air it out for the Hellraisers. On the other side of the ball, MMA has one of the few well balanced offenses of the game and looks to score by any means necessary. Play the pass too hard, Turbo Torres and Hulkamania will be running wild on you. Defense is what this game will come down to, who can bend and not break. MMA has the edge here with its superbly coached unit. MMA 34-21
(1-10) Oregon Ducks v (11-0) Minnesota Stunners
When these two met earlier in the season, it was a slaughter. 138-0 kind of slaughter. Oregon has improved since then, admittedly. It should be less of a slaughter. Coachjbax is surely already making off-season plans for his team. Minnesota shows no signs of stopping, looking past our league and setting their sights on the top 10 global tier. Tonight the Stunners run up the score, and their stats. Minnesota 105-7
(6-5) Drunken Potato Farmers v (4-7) Alliance Cobras
Drunken holds it's playoff fate in its own hands. They have a win over division leader Compton this season already, and will face them once more next week (likely the game of the week). Win out and they are in. You can't look past Alliance however. The cobra strikes when you aren't looking. *ba-dum-tsh* Alliance has looked good at times this year. If they tighten up on defense they would have a couple more wins. Drunken have the player and coaching ability to win this one. It won't be a blow out, but I would say it's a lock. Drunken 31-24.
(4-7) Philadelphia Bling v (7-4) Compton Con Men
For a team with no superstars, Bling has held their own in this league. If they manage to add one or two, they could be dangerous. Compton must be upset they weren't able to lock up the division. Having lost their last two league games, the Con Men need to right the ship. The impending match up with drunken is huge, but if Philadelphia manages to upset them it wont matter anyway. I predict Compton's high powered offense does work this evening. Another multi-touchdown game for the receiving beast lined up at TE. Compton 48-21
