Just made a really shocking discovery today, zero lb dogs does not follow the play art at all. Its suppose to send everyone but the fs and cb1 but in reality http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/124673/1596654 it actually throws people into coverage and then blitzes anyone whos left not covering someone. This seems like something pretty big and I felt it should be brought up. Idk if this is a bug or intended but its a play I know a decent amount of people use and can completely mess with an offense or defense by not following the playart.

Dotted lines indicates that they player will only blitz if he does not have a man to cover, or something along those lines.

I was trying to figure out dotted lines, I was sort of assuming it labeled them as blitzers unless they were required to cover someone and had increased vision checks against the run. I've seen dotted blitzers bail off the blitz way earlier than normal to go after the ball carrier.

What is interesting is that it still labels CB2 as a blitzer, thereby having the FS lineup over the WR2. Yet since a different WR was uncovered, it moved CB2 to guard WR3. Seems a little odd, that CB2 would be switched from WR2 to WR3, instead of having CB2 switch to non-blitz mode and have the FS move down to guard WR3.

So man cover guys move around assuming everyone is blitzing first, and then after that the dotted blitzers move around to see whose still uncovered.

The dogs blitzes (dotted lines) are a little buggy, in such that sometimes they will drop out of their blitz in order to double cover someone that already has a CB or safety covering them. They are definitely better at stopping runs than guys just all out blitzing though.

is it at all possible that the dotted lines are just designed to be a run blitz?

+1. Corndog weighed in on this early on in S2 or S3.
