/rant Every team we play... QB rollout, QB rollout..... GLB2 has become a bit tedious with most rookie teams running these plays. Stupid FOTM! /rant off

I don't mind playing those teams, just makes it boring to watch. Would be nice to see some originality in offenses eventually.

I am going to guess that most teams will be very pass heavy before long. Rookie ball will mostly continue to be heavy run based but more and more passing teams are popping up it seems.

Yea, it balances out a little more later on. First time back in rookie in awhile. It would be nice to see some changes to help glb2 have more variety is all.

for what it's worth, we (Hub) only run QB rollout when we struggle to run inside. Why? Because you can't defend both. We run inside out of goal line, we run outside out of goalline, but we do the same thing out of 2WR and 3WR formations so we're harder to scout.

EDIT: And Bad Meets Evil is one of the 2-3 worst rookie teams when it comes to rollout spam. It's them and those damn germans at #2 in the rookie ladder.

Beer. You mean the Beer team.

It sounds so much better than "Germans"...

And hey.. It's a 6 play playbook. Scouting isn't hard.

One man's deep pass is another man's QB rollout.

you can stop QB rollouts... you just need to have decent builds and call the right plays. I have two teams in Vet that run it (I believe I'm the only overall top 10 team that does) and the teams that know what they are doing can pretty much totally shut it down.

It's true. QB Rollout can actually be a liability if you play against someone who knows what they are doing.

Only thing I hate about it is they pad up unreal stats vs teams that don't know how to stop it. But in any case... it's totally defendable.

Past rookie it is easy to stop because the speed difference between blockers and LB/Safetys is pretty big, which in turn allows them to beat the block to the outside for a TFL on a rushing QB.

It can be stopped in rookie as well but it's a little more difficult and players will take bad angles sometimes that lead to long gains or TDs even if you have the right play call.....but that's just rookie ball.

like I've said a lot times before... success-fulness of rushing QBs goes downhill as seasons go on...

not many good rushing QBs at the higher levels, and better players on defense to react and get to the QB. Just suck it up and deal with it in rookie and sophomore ball.

Lol, no it wasn't hard to scout your team.

I know I need to suck it up for 2 seasons, just wishful thinking! Things people do to rack up their wins/ trophies I guess. Kinda like GLB1 and rookie/ peewee leagues. Play a season, re-roll.

Well, my team won't be a QB rollout team starting in Soph. The plan and roster is setup for a different O. It's just that for Rookie it was easier to do this and then respec the QB and HBs than to try and run the eventual playbook.

I didn't expect it to be this effective actually.

No S* on this team so I'm thinking it's going to drift down the Ladder a lot in time.
