Two reasons ..

1. A lot of teams (who are out of the playoffs) have already started doing cuts to their rosters and this final game is not a great measure of how strong a team is.

2. I'm sure all OC's and DC's would like to use this as a sort of practice/test game at the start of the season to start getting their tactics ironed out.

Well, one downside of this is it creates a "crunch time" before the championship game because all players would hit the next tier right before the championship game.

Kinda becomes a "who spent their end of tier bonuses?"-ship than anything else.

That sounds like a choice the team is making. There are plenty of teams who take that ladder game as serious as any other ladder game.

Why are you cutting people if there is still a game? That's bad management, it hurts players, you shouldn't be doing it.

As a DC, I do not want a "practice/test game" that counts. My tactics are ironed out before games start to count - that's how I'm ready for the first ladder game of the season and keep my team up top.
