Just was wondering as it seems the sack and forced fumbles normally go to DL and LBs and account for most of the MVP stats. The average DB has less than one interception a season.

I think that it wont happen because the system values sacks so much because even with my guy putting up some of the best (if not the best) pass deflection numbers and int numbers in the game and cant crack the top 10 in defensive mvp http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/24159

the league leader in that league has 5.5 sacks so yeah, if the number one rated item that the game looks for is that low a DB can sneak in

well 2 CB's are in the top 10 mvp race in that league, it's solely based of int's the got 5-6 int's yours only got 3 in league games, yes they aren't that good but Int's sacks and FF seems to be the numbers related put in order of value to it cause beside having 6 int's i wouldn't used the highest ranked cb in that league

Ok you missed the glaring wall of CB's in the top 10.

I am just illustrating that in higher level leagues it pans out, not that its perfect but comes closer to the normality.

IRL have you seen many DB's as DMVP? The best DB is one that you never hear their name.

no, I saw that, I also saw that the sack leader has 5.5 sacks - which tells me that if you have a league where nobody is getting sacks then, yes, someone else can get mvp

Rightly so. Which is to be sadly true defense is about numbers and though you might be the best DB in the game, your goal is not to get numbers thus never getting MVP. But what I find really low is INT returns... its rare at best to find a int return for a TD.

That's a load of jive if I ever seen it. You know the best corners in the league and they are generally very much in the dmvp running every season. The problem here is that linebackers and defensive ends dwarf the rankings. Being the top corner in my league shouldn't be 50 best defensive player but that's just how it works out most of the time here. I agree that balancing the stats isn't an easy tweak but there has to be some formula which weighs positional stats a bit better than you currently see.

Ok so I had this huge post about to be like WTF then I re-read your post in saying in the running. Though I agree with you that there are plenty that could argue in the hunt, but only 3 have won since 1969.

Lester Hayes
Deion Sanders
Charles Woodson

These players were EXTREMELY rare and frankly I haven't seen a CB in GLB come close living up to the performance these have had in those MVP seasons. Though they were extremely good in other seasons, the reason they won was due to numbers they put up.. INT's, INT return for TD etc....

Revis/Sherman etc.... are all deemed some of the best in the game, they don't get numbers because they don't get thrown too. The best CB's will not register high numbers and MVP is not subjective in GLB sadly, so will never be in the running.
