I think a nice buff to running defense would be to increase the Shed Block SA triggering by 10% at the silver and gold levels (so up to 30% and then up to 50% chance). You still need to be winning a run block interaction for it to trigger, so the offensive line would still be competitive. Given the current meta, where strong run offenses are especially powerful, it'd be a rather modest buff for the defensive side.

Yeah, Shed Block is one of the SAs that I don't really feel is as exciting as it could and should be.
I really want to do a fairly large SA overhaul this season, tweaking the weak ones, toning down the no brainers (Mr. Reliable is just too good for anybody who touches the ball), and adding some new ones that fill gaps in the current selection.
Then again, it might end up getting pushed to next season. We have to finalize how the veteran leagues are going to work, as well as handling the "out of games but still under contract" players that run out of games midseason.

Will we get full AP respecs if this happens

I'm going to say probably not.
But who knows.
So finished builds will have no access to new SA's, and will be stuck with SA's that were a good decision at the time that got nerfed?
lol

Yep.
And then they will retire the next season as they were going to anyway.
What? So, basically people who purchased the career boosts are screwed and current pro players are screwed as well?

Um, if I was making the SAs actually hurt your build instead of help, then yeah, you'd be pretty screwed.
Changing a percent from 90% to 80% isn't exactly screwing you over. It's a beta, things change. Expecting full refunds every time something is touched is a bit silly.

That, and the entire nature of the game is cyclical. Everyone knew from the get-go that their players would eventually be replaced by newer players, who will be replaced by newer players, who will be replaced by newer players.
And as I said, full respecs could happen. Partial respecs of certain SAs is much more likely, though. Just don't expect them, because it largely depends on the reach of the changes.

Corndog, I don't think you need to even use the "beta" defense. In MMOGs, class abilities are altered changing play-styles, weapons choices etc. A 10% change to shed block isn't going to make someone's build completely ruined.

New SAs could though...and usually when a SA is nerfed or buffed by glb that "10%" increase or decease usually means it becomes way overpowered or very bad.

SA: Open Field Tackler
Ability Type: Active
Powered By: Tackling Technique
Activation Condition: Attempting a tackle with no other defenders within X yards (somewhere in the 2-4 range would possibly work)
Activation Chance: Up to 15/30/50%
Duration: 1 second or so
While Active: Tackling Technique + 5/10/15, Tackling Technique Rolls guaranteed to be 15/30/50% of Max
I haven't put much thought into the exact numbers, but I think the game really needs an SA like this.
