Forum > Goal Line Blitz 2 > I'm considering buying a team - Do I really have to wait 40+ days?

I haven't spent a penny yet, but I was thinking about dishing out some cash to buy enough flex to buy a team and a full offensive squad with all boost. After reading some of the FAQ and other guides, it looks like the season last 40+ days. I took a peek at the leagues and it looks like they just started their 30 game season.

So, are you telling me I would have to wait 40+ days before I can finally play and manage a team? Seriously? Really? If that is not the case then that is GREAT!, and if it is the case then that is severely disappointing and a major let down. I want to play now, not 40+ days from now, and from a business point of view why would you do this because (if true) it'll cost you a lot of lost revenue in the long run. Why not have the various different leagues have various different starting dates so that people don't have to wait so long?

There's usually a semi-midseason league opening up around day 10, day 15 or so.

The reason why they do it this way is because of how players age - if you have new leagues starting weekly, then free agents would only be able to join teams on their league's "cycle". And when a league closes down (which happens often), the remaining teams would need to wait a few weeks to find a new league to get moved into.

Why not make a few players now, join existing teams, and get to know the game and it's mechanics for cheap now, and then spend your money later. I'm sure a few rookie teams would like someone to coach their offenses/defenses.

Last season another rookie league was started about 5-6 games into the season so if there is enough demand for teams then they may have the same deal this season.

Well, it just irks me that I was keeping my fingers crossed as I was clicking into the leagues hoping that a new season was about to begin, and to my misfortune I saw that only 1 game has been played and so the new season just freakin started. Talking about bad luck and bad timing.

Okay, that would be nice. Well, I'll just go ahead and buy my flex and buy the team and will wait. The game looks awesome and worth the wait.........

If it's anything like GLB1 then I'll be fine with the mechanics. I destroyed almost every team I faced in my first peewee season and won the championship cup....of course, this was several years back.

There are actually a few rookie teams available right now if you really want to jump in (we added one extra league at the last minute), and it's likely those will slowly be bought up over the course of the season by people who are new just like you. Just go to the "buy team" page under the "teams" header.

Also, any players made in GLB2 after the season starts will be of the appropriate level automatically (assuming they use the "experienced" option), so players do come up for availability mid-season, granted there are less of them than at the start when everybody's gearing up for a new run. There are some just sitting around in D-leagues as well you can try to recruit.

What a coincidency looks like I'm your new head coach and your players are now Sarasota Swordfish. Are you in for the long haul? We need to make room for some future all-stars. http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/team
