I think it is much to easy to fumble in GLB. Check out my power running back http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/20355, the build is open. He has nearly 100 carrying but yet still fumbles 20 times a season.

Anyone else had this problem?

This has been pointed out before to others, but without Mr. Reliable or Brace 4 Impact, Even with 96 carrying grip, you're still capable of a terrible dice roll. Those SAs increase the floor on your dice rolls. You should absolutely probably spend the final SA points on Mr Reliable to silver if the fumbling bothers you. The balance benefits while being tackled will play into your tackle breaking desires too anyhow.

Thanks for the tip, didn't even realize that those abilities were there and had that effect.

He fumbles 20 times, on 400+ carries. Specifically, with 457 carries and 29 receptions, and 19 fumbles, your guy fumbled on 3.9% of his touches. While yes, that is significantly higher than an NFL runningback (Reggie Bush was the most fumble prone halfback, at 2.2% of carries), it's still a low rate, considering that defensive players would get quite pissed off if fumbles were impossible.

Carry Grip the only attribute that doesn't work without having a certain SA

They all work the same way. When Carrying Grip does fail, it's just very, very, very, very noticeable

Just for the record here are some stats from S5.

Keep in mind this was only against similar level tier competition, and no CPU games at all.

ROOKIE > 67057 rushes @ 2.7454 % fumble
SOPHOMORE > 50471 rushes @ 2.5004 % fumble
SEASONED > 34382 rushes @ 2.5304 % fumble
JOURNEYMAN > 23296 rushes @ 2.8503 % fumble
PROFESSIONAL > 47769 rushes @ 2.4744 % fumble

Wow...surprisingly consistent. I was thinking they went down at higher levels.

You can go here Corn:

To see that INT rates (stobie has them broken down based on hurry / no hurry)

but:

rookie: .59-.75% int rate
soph: 1.02
seas: 1.33-1.24%
journ: 1.42-1.64%
pro: 2.12-1.87%

(lower int rate is the hurried rate - which stobie seemed to correctly point out --- lower the pass quality some and you lower the chance for the defender to catch it too)

Strange to me. Maybe I build strange - but carry grip was one of the first things I capped on my HB's. Add in Gold Mr. Reliable and possibly Gold Brace for Impact -- and even with defenders finally getting around to capping power running - I would have thought the fumble rate would go down at higher levels...

Yes, but as you build up your carry grip, defenders are building up their power tackling. Especially once they have their speed capped and when they gold Monster Hit.

In my perception - most of the time when my power back fumbles -- it is not a monster hit that causes it...it is him being stood up for a second or two and then the ball popping out with no SA firing...

Have to remember its all about dice rolls and each dice roll is a new chance. When getting tackled there might be multiple as he might be in the processes of fighting off the tackle and another defender comes in with a clean roll, etc...

That's the exact situation when Strip Technique is used.
