I have a dual threat QB.

He has Silver in Quick Read, should I save my SA points and invest in Gold Quick Read, or spend a point in On the Run or Pump Fake?

I would say on the run

I take that back got it confused with tuck and run. I would go with tuck and run

I turned off scrambling early because it normally wound up in him scrambling into a sack.

then you want on the run, and not tuck and run.

There has been a thread that made a good point for it, I think it was by Laggo. Unfortunately I cant find it and there is no search option for the forums... But essentially it was that: On the run fires on inside the pocket as well as outside the pocket. Even the slightest move by your QB fullfiles the activation conditions. That also seems to mean, that a little side step leads to some kind of accuracy damage, which can be reduced by OtR.

My (pocket passer) QB has QR at gold and I will continue with OtR.

Actually I'm probably the only person who is on the fence with On the Run

Yes it fires a lot in the pocket but it's a reduction to the accuracy penalty from moving and is not a flat increase to your technique/accuracy or something.

I hate games that use balance through obscurity (even though I still play this one for some reason...) because we can never know whether On the Run is good or not because we don't know if that accuracy penalty is flat or scales when you move farther/faster. I have to imagine it scales because having the same penalty for scrambling full speed out of the pocket and taking a step in the pocket doesn't make sense to me but who honestly knows with this game.

It could be a bottom-tier skill if the accuracy penalty is tiny (which I really think it is, considering we knew old OOP penalties to be 5%), or a god-tier skill if the accuracy penalty is flat and/or a big deal.

Of course, by that same logic, +15 Pass Tech, Consistency, Accuracy, etc might not mean much either in the grand scheme of things.

This would go back to my preference to have the skills and their impacts on the sim known like any good PvP game, but testers shot that down, so it is what it is.

I like that the GLB gods don't give away how the system. Let the smart people figure out how to play the game and let the losers...well....lose.

Knowing how each skill works won't change the dynamic of smart agents and owners building better teams.

Interesting take on On the Run. My QB is getting pressured a lot so I thought it would help out on those errant throws when moving around the pocket.

I've been watching Pump Fake in games lately, and it seems to really work. What's everyone take on that?

Then there's going gold in Quick Read. I'm torn.

I agree, and I wish the stats were just labeled "Stat1" and "Stat2" instead of things like "Sprinting" and "Quickness" and also for the descriptions to go away. Only people who took to time to see which stats do what and what SA's work through sheer trial and error should be allowed to win. Throw in some stats/SAs that do nothing to spice things up

For me I will be taking OTR to gold bc of my Oline. I run pass 60/40 with a balanced line. My QB will not be able to sit in the pocket as well as an all passing line. Later seasons I imagine my QB will be moving at a high velocity rate several times a game, OTR will be instrumental.

If I used an all pass Oline, I'd not go with OTR what so ever.
