#1 Sunday Funday vs. #5 Tampa Piranha's

I know I asked not to be matched up against DD or Rusty but Tampa put the squashings on me last time I played them. Feeling a bit more in tune with defense these days though so it should be a good matchup. Unfortunately the seasons biggest games always fall on the weekend so just hoping I can find time between drinks for this.

30-28 Sunday Funday: Homer pick but I think it is gonna be a close one.

#2 Queen City BrewMasters vs. #9 Monmouth Evil Monkeys

This is exactly what Paraboon needed. Back to back matches vs. QCBC/SF to put Doinitin back into the drivers seat. QCBC lost to MEM 20-10 in their last meeting but otherwise pwn's the seasonal H2H 3-1. (5-2 vs Para overall this season) Romo needs this game to stay in the hunt for the top seed.

27-24 MEM: QCBC couldn't even get out of the gate last time.

#3 Doinitin Djibouti vs. #13 Pauline Goat Ranchers

The Goat Ranchers as far as I have seen are a gimmick and DD smashes Gimmicks. I can't see this ending well.

42-10 Doinitin: Sacrificial goat. Would be surprised to see Goats change their defense up and make this a game.

#4 New Jersey Generals vs. #7 Maine Snails

NJ crushed the Snails in their last meeting 37-3 and thus far pwn's the seasonal battle 2-0. Maine has been on quite the slide late in the season and is slowly finding itself losing out of the top 10. Meanwhile NJ is pushing for the #1 Ladder spot and this could be just the win to hit it.

24-17 Generals: Two similar teams but the Generals are on the up and up right now.

#6 Rusty's Ruins vs. #12 American Hustlers

A loss here could be devastating for the Ruins as they have been pushing hard for that top 5 spot and have already slipped up on that chance in their regular season finale. The Hustlers on the other hand are just trying to close in on a top 10. Something that has been a huge hurdle for many teams this season. I have never heard of this team before so I have no idea what to expect.

38-17 Rusty: Homer pick but I feel pretty good about it.

#8 Erkner Razorbacks vs. #17 Detroit Foreclosures

A huge opportunity for Detroit rounding out the end of the season. Kinda a let down for Erkner who has to be really close to overtaking Maine at 7. A loss here could really put a blow on the Razorbacks. But the way Maine is taking hits this might just be the perfect opportunity for Erkner anyways. Detroit seems like a pretty up and down team. They have some really solid wins but also some really puzzling losses. The last meeting with Erkner did not end well. 55-10.

38-13 Erkner: Can't see this one going any other way tbh.

#10 Dakota Dire Wolves vs. #19 Iowa Rogues

Dakota had a first round stumble today against Seattle so their top 10 rank is probably on the bubble. A good cure for to hold that spot off could be an up and down Iowa team. The last meeting between these 2 teams went Dakota's way 35-14.

24-21 Dakota: Iowa looks good defensively at least so this could be kept close.

#11 Seattle Seahawks vs. #20 Sons of Anarchy

Seattle is currently in a huge funk but after dropping 8 of their last 12 they sparked a win in round one of the playoffs today over Dakota. Which has to put them right back into position to grab a top 10 spot back. Sons ran into a brick wall in round one of their playoff match today against top ladder seed Sunday Funday, so they are looking hard towards the ladder now. These 2 teams have not met this season at all but I could see some offense happening.

33-30 SOA: Offense explosion and I am still unsure if Seattle is back on track despite the win today.

#14 Mr. Men vs. #21 Rocky Mountain Reapers

I really thought Mr. Men was gonna turn the corner after beating Rusty but they just haven't been able to get over the hump. Devastating loss to Erkner in their last ladder game. This is just the game they need to grab some confidence. Then again who knows what team you are getting with RMR? They are coming off a 38-31 defeat of Brisbane and are trying to vie for a top 20 spot.

27-21 RMR: Radical pick but I think this one is gonna be close.

#15 Brisbane Bogans vs. #24 Legacy

Brisbane is coming off a tough playoff loss to Doinitin. Legacy not in the playoffs ended their 4 game skid with a win over Detroit Foreclosures in their last ladder match. The last meeting went to the Bogans 21-9.

24-13 Bogans: Legacy just looks lost lately on offense.

#16 Providence Murderous Radicals vs. #18 Portland Ronin

The Radicals are coming off a slugfest loss to the Ruins. Portland not in the playoffs this season and also coming off a loss going into this game and are 0 for their last 3 ladder matches (all within 7 points) The last meeting was taken by Portland 35-25.

38-24 Radicals: The Radicals are hitting their stride offensively and I am not sure Ronin has the offense to keep up.

Maine's skid was the result of not having an offensive coordinator for half the season. Since USC took the job, we've gone 7 and 2, with the only 2 losses being to deep passing teams who are beating up on pretty much everyone atm.

That said, NJ is definitely a challenge, and I'm going to obviously have to build something new on defense given that they rolled over my previous attempts.

Well, I have to admit that before yesterdays game I kinda felt invincible, but now Im just worried again^^ Guess that was good for us as the focus is right there again now

More like the two losses came to the only 2 teams in the top 20

The wins will come, I'm still fine tweaking tactics to do what I want them to.

Thought I would push it out a little further since we are getting up to an age where tier lower teams are probs gonna start pushing for top 25. Will make it more interesting to track them entering the mix.

It also keeps people interested in the ladder games, seeing their teams names up there and debated.

I would but the quality of teams for seasoned isn't nearly as deep. Kinda falls off after the top 14

Listen, you're doing this voluntarily so it's all up to you. Frankly, I'd be be too lazy to post the top ten. But...

I disagree about your conclusion regarding talent, just look at #15 -- the Sacramento Hornets, they are a very high quality team in Eris League. They are a pretty consistent tough fight for Yorick's Vase Breakers there. Homage jokes, but DD (#16) has placed into a league championship with Lost Lounge. Tampa Bay (#19) was in a playoff match up, and Monster Island (#21) just beat the #4 team on the ladder to get into its league championship.

What you guys are doing is huge for building the GLB2 community. It's a real, volunteer contribution. And I think a lot of teams on the lower rungs might try to compete to get a mention, making the game more competitive.

That is sort of like saying Journeyman falls off after the top 10. Ya sure, for consistency it does. But there are some pretty talented teams outside the top 14 of seasoned.

I coulda went further as even though it dips down to teams like MCD (went inactive) and Dookie (roster is all over the place) you still have some outliers like Northwest Storms, TT's team, a wealth of Osprey teams, etc..
