It would nice that when you do a pickup game for your PR/KR player, he actually does that instead of a HB who has not returned a kick all season. The point of the Pick Up Game is to see how your player is progressing, correct? Seems that a PR/KR who is a WR is getting the short end of that stick since it is always a HB returning in those games.

Unfair.
Just add all players with the Return Man Specialist trait to the DC, let all of them rotate on frequently (if that even does anything on KRPR)

Not all return men take the Return Specialist trait
I'd argue there are pretty much always better options

then they aren't good returnmen.
I think I can count on everything you say to be 100% nonsense now.

Maybe your return man doesn't return because the HB's are better at it ? My HB's lead their league in return average over and over again over "return men" because people don't know how to build them. Thus, in a pickup game the CPU will give to the best player, not to some guy just because you happen to want them to be a "return man".

What about the ppl who don't believe awareness works?
Can't punish them because of their build,
however if they picked returnman trait then you know 100% that they want to be a returnman.
It's a no brainer, -2 is from two mongrels.

So, if I am building him purely as a returning and throwing all points into it, then I don't deserve to have him pickup games? Besides the fact that in the last game I did that, the HB had zero points in that area and I know this because his build was open. It appears that by default, in pickup games, a HB is always put in that role. It I do a pickup game with my HB, who has zero points in the return area, he is stuck doing returns. It should not be that way.

Not sure I've ever seen anything other than a HB return in pickups.

Well the kicking game should tell me whether a kick goes wide left, or right, or why its missed, but it neither says it, or shows it properly in the animation so who knows. I don't know if HB's get it automatically or if its because they are better. I think the latter though.
I have a WR not built to be a return guy at all on a CPU team and even he got ( a few) reps at returns last season...so he was probably on the depth chart just real low as I didn't build him to do that, but I know how to build them so he got a few reps over others. While some guy who poorly built a "return man" probably didnt get any...and the halfbacks got most.
So bottom line is we don't know. One solution would be for a scrimmage game to choose if you want a player to play KR/PR, but it may not be fair as what if everyone wants their guy to be KR/PR that game ? Build better and your guy will probably get the ball. Also, maybe WR's arent the best at returns, or you just aren't doing it right. (I also have a WR that I actually built to be a return guy and he leads his league as well...don't use him in scrimmage games so I don't know about that...but I know a WR CAN do as well as a halfback, or better...but that halfbacks seem to be by default pretty good at returns so I think that is why.)
Basically get your return guy on a human run team so he can get reps. Because one built so poorly probably won't get many reps on a CPU team. (But I know they can as mine have before...in CPU regular season games but I don't know about scrimmages.)

Half this post makes no sense. I am not sure you understand what is being said in this thread.
