Currently, I see toons with 80+ return awareness either run out with a clear path to the endzone, or try to run through a group of blocking interactions and instead of running through them he just freezes in the middle until he either gets tackled, or occasionally the blocks hold for the 5 seconds it takes him to navigate through, or an SA like Juke fires that gets him unstuck. Can we have the return man not step out when he has a clear path to the end zone or to gain 5-6 more yards, and can we not have him freeze in the middle of a bunch of players?

Could we also get a punt return formation with a blocking wedge while we're at it? There's no point to running a punt block formation when blocked punts are literally impossible

blocking is fucked up so even if the return man wasn't an idiot, he still has no where to go with the 5+ defenders running full speed right at him.

No hope here, just like Punt Returns. consider STs highly lol, and only a part of glb2 because it has to be.

My guys often lead their leagues in return average...odds are your build is stupid. (Pretty sure I know why.)

He could have easily gotten a TD in that play. I see two problems.

at tick 146, he should have taken an outside lane and fully accelerated. Instead, he gets himself near a blocked defender and gets dramatically slowed down.

And then, at tick 211, he seems sooooooooooooo worried about being tackled from side/back that he keeps changing direction every tick. Obviously he doesn't have 100 quickness, and with each 'changing direction roll' he gets slowed down further.

He has return awareness 46. I realize that it isn't the highest number among sophomore returners, but it isn't the lowest either. It is a no brainer that he maes an outside route and take off.

Seeing your claim that players with 80 return awareness aren't any better at making 'intelligent' choices, I suspect that return awareness has nothing to do with returning.

My Seasoned returner only has 20 return awareness, and is ranked 4th in his league. I'm not convinced return awareness is worth anything.
Just a place to put points when you don't have anywhere else to put points. (in other words - useless)

Yeah, I just dropped in my non-returner HB and he looked exactly like (if not better) than my HB returner.

Maybe works better for elusive runners?

Like I said in the first post, Ive seen Journeymen Return men with 80+ return awareness behave like this. Plus, my return man is a top 3 return man in all of rookie. All return men are behaving this way regardless of build

He might have 80+ return awareness but then the rest of his build is going to be horrible in other areas. Which is your problem. Don't waste points on something you don't know works or not. Personally, I don't want punt returns returned for touchdowns every single play just because someone puts all their points into one thing. That is stupidity and not what the game should be about, so I like it the way it is.

Your guy is like a player with a perfect 48 wonderlic whose only training is to do brain teasers instead of actually doing reps in the gym. that will make a great football player. People on GLB are really dumb.

No, the rest of his build is fine. Get out of here if you aren't going to provide constructive comments. We don't want punts returned for tds every play, just for the return man to act in a logical manner. The point is that return men shouldn't be stopping cold in the middle of blocking interactions, and they shouldn't slow down or go out of bounds with a clear path in front of them. Your comments aren't addressing the issues at all, you're just assuming nothing is wrong when you know nothing about how the return logic is coded . Clearly since even high level players with plenty of points in all the important stats are behaving this way, It's not a build issue, it's a programming one

Wtf is the point your struggling to make going to help. There is an issue with returners in general being indecisive behind the "wedge" and inexplicably running out of bounds and your trying to say it's a build issue...GTFO of the bugs forum. You're not helping anything.

Here is this returner- http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/27123

What's wrong with his build?

Perhaps it's possible that too much awareness has an adverse effect on his reactions? Maybe with an awareness that high he's actually reacting to players regardless of if they have a legitimate shot at making a play on the returner or not.

Thought I heard toughness also affects the likeliness of a ball carrier running out of bounds instead of taking on a tackler, maybe that has something to do with it too? Although 30 toughness isn't terrible...

Just a thought.

Rookie returners without awareness do the same thing. Nothing in the toughness description, nor any mods or programmers, have ever indicated toughness affects anything besides energy loss. It's all unfounded player speculation
