#10 New Jersey Surge vs #11 Jebediahs Oblong Ball Club
After taking their lump against a journeyman team, New Jersey won their league game and have climbed back into the top 10 with a chance to show their strength against a fair opponent this time. New Jersey brings in a high powered passing attack that can only be expected to continue to get better as the season progresses. Jebs took an unexpected loss in their league game to drop a little bit, but I wouldn't take them lightly. They gameplanned quite nicely in their last ladder game and held their opponent to their lowest point total for the entire season. The key to this game will be whether or not Jebs can get consistent pressure on Surge QB. I think they will, and might even force a couple of fumbles that may turn the game in their favor. Jebs wins 13-10

#8 I've Never Had Sex vs #9 Vandelay Industries
The Sexless started the season slow but have been on a ridiculous tear since starting 1-2. Their only loss in the last 8 games was against a journeyman team. They will run the ball early and often and don't care that you know it's coming. Vandelay has moved into the top 10 and are looking for their first signature win of the season. Behind QB George Costanza they will try to throw the ball all over the field, but this sexless team has a better defense than many might think. I've Never Had Sex wins 20-7

#7 Baltimore Bulldogs
vs #14 Sexy Dance Fighters
Baltimore is a team that I have faced and they really impressed me, particularly on defense. They simply don't give up very many points. They will have their hands full though with the Sexy Dance Fighters and their 2-head QB monster rushing attack. You have to think Sexy will find a way to break through for at least one TD, because they always do. The question is whether Baltimore can put together some offense and I think they will. Baltimore wins 13-7

#3 C O N V I C T E D vs #5 BO(.)(.)OBS!
Convicted picked up their first loss of the season in their last ladder game, but followed that up with a league victory against a good Snoozers team. If there is one defense that might even impress me more than Baltimore it is Convicted. 8 shutouts is impressive. If you are going to beat Convicted you are going to need to shut down their offense because you aren't going to score a lot. Any team named Boobs is a team that I will naturally pull for. This team has went toe to toe with some of the best the rookie league has to offer and usually come out ahead. They feature a superstar studded offensive line and a superstar HB. So naturally they are a good running team. I wouldn't be surprised by either team winning this game but I am going to give the slight edge to Convicted. Convicted wins 10-6

#2 Men Who Herd Cats
vs #6 Dublin Wolfhounds
I'm looking forward to this one. This game features two prolific passing attacks. Both teams are hard to stop and have put up a lot of points lately. I expect both teams to have offensive success, so it will come down to which team can slow down the others passing attack. Dublin has impressed me lately and I am going with the upset here. Dublin wins 24-14

#1 Run GLB
vs #4 The Boogie Men
This game features two of the best running teams in rookie. The Boogie Men have yet to be stopped as they have scored at least 20 points in every single game this season. Run GLB is #1 for a reason. They continue to take down top competition. These two teams played to a thrilling 42-38 shootout in a previous meeting this season. I expect lots of running and another great game. I'm going to pick the favorite in this one though. Run GLB wins 31-21

Nice writeup! We have scrimmaged with Vandelay more than anyone else, so we know each other pretty well by now. I had always scrimmaged them because I could test potential plays on their stellar defense. The only question is if they can stop the outside/inside run combo and if we can get consistent pressure. A few long passes in a row and we could be in trouble. If only this matchup had come after we get our second ability point! I predict this game comes down to a single blown play, either a long pass by them or a broken outside run from us.

nice job Rob

we'll give it our best to get our cats moving the right way

I don't feel like we are clicking yet on offense - maybe i'll get lucky and we'll fire on all cylinders this game

Nice writeup. Personally, I think running teams have been badly hamstrung by the recent changes and any run-first offenses are at a serious disadvantage unless further changes are made to the sim.

It seems like teams like myself, BOOBS, and Run GLB (aka the 3 Hydrogen League teams in the top 10, aka "The Holy Tritium") that were built specifically for run-only with superstars in the right positions are still keeping our heads above water. I do see some teams that have built specifically towards stopping the run, such as Vandelay, giving us massive problems though.

QB rollout is the only thing saving rushing rookie teams.

Nice assessment. It should be fun to see how things play out. When dealing with the top teams nothing is ever really a surprise.

It should be a good game. You have a heck of a running attack that I will have to stop.

Talking about 3 good teams in one league, these 3 teams are in the same division:

#9 Vandelay Industries
#11 Syndicate Bayou Bengals
#18 Mannheim Jaguars
