Do these work? I've had them checked in the Tactics over multiple seasons and I haven't noticed it being used.

It's powered by the pocket awareness skill. It's also only used when there are at least 6 pass rushers.
You'll see it against 6+ rusher blitz type plays more once you've got 40+ pocket awareness or so.

Cleveland will hold a HB over half the time against 6 rushers.

I think everyone would agree that it would be great to see the QB hold back blockers more often. Even against 5+ pass rushers.

I've never seen it, so Pocket Awareness=40 must be at the lower limit.
How does it work? Is the TE called for strong-side blitzes, HB for weak-side, FB for ??
If the TE/RB is the primary rcvr on the play, does he still get the audible to block?

I'd agree that my pass offense would be infinitely more unstoppable.

I'd agree that my pass offense would finally be mediocre!

[sarcasm]Yes, that is exactly what we need. QBs to be able to hold blockers back against all blitzes with minimal SP investment, the passing game really needs a boost.[/sarcasm]
Seriously, I think this is a very valuable tool for an offense and a QB, and it should require a pretty hefty SP investment to be something that an OC can depend on.

Could make the check for seeing the 5th blitzer even harder than the current one for the 6 blitzer check

But as-is, it's a feature that is basically nonexistant at the rookie level, unless your QB goes hard at pocket awareness early...in which case, as a rookie, the ball is going nowhere. There really should be more coordinator-level control over it, for situations where you want to mass protect, times when you make the call that you'd much rather incomplete a pass than take a sack (say, 3rd and 8, down 2, on the other team's 30 yard line). It shouldn't be 100% dependent on number of blitzers + awareness.

And you have tested that theory?

Pumped pocket aware a lot, througout rookie ball. Sucked, throughout rookie ball. Dumbly retired midway through the season of being in the d-league when I forgot about superstar points.
