Let's use this thread to talk about the highs and lows of season 3 that we'll all be remembering.

For me, whether we make the playoffs or not, just being in a spot to get into the playoffs after last season is a huge step forward. And I've definitely enjoyed seeing our team come together in such a tough league.

Stobie's league work and Niboris' ladder work are definitely worth remembering. I could make predictions or writeups on games but they would be BS and not nearly as as well articulated as what those guys do.

Well not too sure about that.

All 3 are tied in Overall W/L.

Helmand 2-0 against DeepRoute
Helmand 1-1 against BSquad
DeepRoute 1-1 against BSquad

Not sure a H2H tiebreaker can come from this unless because Helmand is 2-0 against DeepRoute they get it. Or does it go straight to points against where DeepRoute is #3 and Helmand is #8 and BSquad is #10.

Ohh the debate that could ensue

How Ministry almost were done in by a forced fumble in the trailing seconds on the opponents 1 yard line. They left the door wide open for the Texas Toast to get the wildcard after faltering to Alpine but Texas Toast couldn't pull the win out against the Gangsters giving Ministry the wildcard spot.

Talk about a low then a high... for Ministry!

Season 4 will help to sort that out. I don't think B-Squad's going to flirt with a 6-8 record net year. If you really want a debate - I am going to call bonehead on myself. I would swear on any holy or unholy book that I set our defensive tactics for the Helmand game, but we ran the game with a default set of books. I definitely think we would have stuck it to Helmand hard this week had the right tactics been in place. The standings don't lie - boneheadness cost us 2nd place in the division, next season we'll give Tampa a run for the division. Without a doubt, Alpha is the toughest division within the toughest league in the game right now. That's all that 6-8 tie says. These is no cakewalk cupcake teams in Alpha.

I do think the B-Squad story is one of the best one's in Osprey. We started at rank #116 and are now sitting at #54. At the start of the season the predication was we would win 1 game, maybe 2. We're currently 18-9 for the season - had a 12-1 run up streak up the ladder. One of our running backs just leapfrogged Taylor Swift for 2nd place in the most yards rushing.

Big season for us.

And we're gifted humble braggers.

I admit I haven't paid much attention this season. But I am not sure that is accurate

I do agree that B-Squad is the most compelling story, but only due to 4 teams actually competitive I would say Alpha is the most competitive. I would argue though that Beta would be the strongest when comparing against other Divisions.

If you take out of division play here are the records. * Please note that Alpha and Gamma all got a freebie with Undead.

Alpha

Tampa 6-2
DeepRoute 4-4
B-Squad 4-4
Helmand 3-5

Beta

Detroit 7-1
Ministry 6-2
Alpine 4-4
Undead 0-8

Gamma

Kansas City 5-3
Texas Toast 4-4
New York 2-6
Rhode Island 2-6

If you total it all up.....

Alpha 17-15
Beta 17-15
Gamma 13-19

..........................

Now not saying that Alpha or Gamma wouldn't have beaten the bottom team in Beta, but I am sure they could have one a few of those games which imo puts Beta as the #1 division in Osprey.

That is a season long look so it is all subjective at this point.

Until next season!

I Kind of like this from the end of season 3 by Stobie,

Helmand Provincial Pathan Pansies (6-7) (84) at Sacramento B-Squad (2-10-1) (169)
MATCHUP: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/compare_teams/293/292
WATCH GAME: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/replay/15450

Helmand struggled this season thought they still showed plenty of promise where as it seems Sacramento needs to evaluate some things for next season. I have just gotten word that both teams are staying so this should be a game that could flourish into a rivalry. Neither team is fighting for a playoff spot, but Sacramento is fighting not to be one of the worst teams record wise. Calling an upset here.

I like this one because Stobie actually called one right between Helmand and SacB ...I do believe Sac has had 5 opportunities to use the right playbook with a 1-4 record against Helmand I should assume it was used once?

OK I will stop trolling SACB now, Do not want to know how much the Piper will want for Payback come season 4.

in breaking news, the rumor mill has reported that next season B Squad will have a new qb on there roster. Cullen Bohannon the impressive back up quarterback for the Detroit Foreclosures will be traded to B Squad.
