I don't have a fancy program to plug numbers into and come up with scientific power rankings, but I do have my own personal opinion. So here are my current rankings for all the teams in the league based on the "Rob eye test". Enjoy!
1. All Madden-----Ladder: 3-----League: 9-0-----Overall: 15-2
The cream of the crop. All Madden boasts an overwhelming defense that neutralizes the best of offenses. On offense they will shove the ball down your throat, unless they decide to fuck with you, then they pass the ball and look like a complete pass first offense. They can do whatever they want, and whatever they choose to do, they will do it better than you. I see no weaknesses with this team, which is why they are so high on the ladder ranking.
2. Alaska Assassins------Ladder: 9-----League: 8-1-----Overall: 13-4
I'm not going to boast about my team, but I think we are deserving of the #2 spot.
3. Jersey Goons-----Ladder: 39-----League: 7-2-----Overall: 11-6
Yes I know, this is the team that lost to Winnipeg so they should be #4 right? You could make the case. There is just something about this team though. They play so tough and you never see them get blown out. They beat a pretty good Santa Fe team easily not too long ago. I think they are very close to being a really good team if they can get everything figured out.
4. Winnipeg Wrath-----Ladder: 31-----League: 6-2-1-----Overall: 11-5-1
I was very worried about Winnipeg at the beginning of the season. I thought they would be our biggest challenger within the Gamma division. When we went head to head with them early in the season we only won by 5 points. Then after that game they started to lose their way. Recently though they have been climbing back, showing signs of the team we all thought they could be. A recent blowout loss in the ladder game gives them a chance to reevaluate themselves and come back stronger. The next games with Alaska and Santa Fe should be good.
5. D.C Corrupt Politicians-----Ladder: 64-----League: 4-5-----Overall: 9-8
D.C. has come back from the dead by winning 5 games in a row. I'm not sure if they made some changes or what, but they are coming on strong at the right time. I gave them no chance of beating Santa Fe and they did it. We will see how they handle their next league game with us, but at the very least they have caught our attention. Side Note: It's about time someone in Beta division is starting to play well outside of All Madden. You guys need to stop making it so easy for him!
6. Santa Fe Sugar Dwarves-----Ladder: 60-----League: 4-4-1-----Overall: 9-7-1
Santa Fe is a team that can battle with the best of them. They were showing a lot of promise, but have taken a bit of a step back lately. I'm sure the losses to Jersey and D.C. were tough to take, but they have the potential to right the ship and make a run for the playoffs. I think the biggest game will be their showdown with Winnipeg. That one will be a must watch.
7. Galactic Empire-----Ladder: 73-----League: 4-5-----Overall: 8-9
These guys narrowly lost to Winnipeg, lost to Alaska and then went on a 4 game winning streak. These wins were all against crappy competition, but at least they proved they aren't crap. Narrow losses to some of the teams above them tell me that if they can make a few tweaks maybe they can move up, but I wouldn't count on it.
8. Buffalo Gangstarz-----Ladder: 109-----League: 4-4-1-----Overall: 6-10-1
After drawing a Sophomore team in their ladder game a little while ago and getting walloped, the wheels have completely fallen off. In their last 10 games they have gone 2-7-1. They may have lost their confidence, but they need to step up and try to finish the season strong. I think they have the talent to put up some more wins, they just need to become less predictable with their play calls.
9. Copenhagen Vikings-----Ladder: 86-----League: 2-6-1-----Overall: 7-9-1
The best of the inactives. I don't know how they do it, but they keeping hanging in the top 100.
12. Montana/Charlotte/Milwaukee
These teams are not even worth typing about and I am immediately regretting typing the words that I am currently typing about these teams. Pad your stats against these guys!
Well that about it. Let's see if anyone can surprise me!
