And away we go. Ladder is starting to get SLIGHTLY more valid as a measure...but still not entirely. There are a ton of horrible rookie teams out there (we are very lucky to have active teams in our league) so some teams have yet to play a decent game and are a meaningless 5-0.

Meanwhile some teams have had to play GOOD sophomore teams which dropped them down the ladder ranks (unfairly). There doesn't seem to be a TON of logic to it now - but I think it is reasonable to assume it gets more meaningful as the season goes along.

#6 HOLY GUACAMOLE! vs #14 LUELinks LUEshis
LUELinks is a good team. I've scrimmed them several times (and lost) - and their only loss is to our very own Mushroom City (who I also believe is a very good team). This is really the first true test for the avocado's. Is the guacamole smooth and tasty...or is are there a lot of lumps in it that have remained hidden to this point?? We'll have a much better idea tomorrow than we've had to this point in the season. I do not expect a 30 point win by HG here (their average winning margin in their last 4).


#88 Canton Bulldogs vs Washington Terror - a CPU team who kicked the tar out of the Vampires recently. They are mostly sophomore CPU's. This is Bad News for the Bulldogs.

#83 Eugene Hellhounds vs Medford Ducks (122 Sophomore). Two inactive owners square off. One a freshman -- one a sophomore. How does this battle turn out? I think we all know. No reason to watch this one.

#114 LaPaz Challengers vs 126 Phoenix Vampiers - two rookie teams squaring off. Come on LaPaz - you are better than your record....prove it!

#3 Minnesota Stunners vs #2 Nigerian Minimares - OUCH. Tough draw for me. Where-as some teams have not been tested - I believe my team has. Though we were LUCKY to win at times - we have won against VERY good Mushroom, EEA and Torque teams. Are we for real? I don't know yet. The Minimares are also a VERY good team. This one can go either way.

#24 Mushroom City vs #34 Jersey Goons - Mushroom can phone it in here and still walk away with a comfortable win. They are too good for the goons to handle.

#90 Eastern European vs #100 Fully Torqued - Interesting matchup as they share a lot of the same coaching staff. I've played both teams - and both teams are good. EEA lost to me and mushrooms...Torque has lost 3. I guess I have to give the edge to EEA in this one. I'm sure there is a lot of smack going on in the team forums though!

#122 Band of Brothers vs #110 Team Buddies - BOB kept it within 20 against the Mushrooms recently. Are they getting it turned around? I have no clue.

#8 Sexy Dance Fighters vs #7 Victorious Secret - Two 5-0 teams squaring off. I like Sexy's body of work just slightly - so I'll give them the slight edge here - but this one can go either way. Whoever breaks the most long TD's will probably put the other into a morale death spiral.

#61 Nebraska Cornhuskers vs #59 Stockholm Hawks - The Hawks were my ladder game last time. They are awful. Nebraska can phone it in here -- compile some stats -- and focus the game plan on Mushroom City (they better come up with something good.)

#119 Montreal Blue Knights vs #126 Saskatchewan Rubber Ducks - I think Montreal is improving over the course of the year - they win this one easy.

#149 Valletta Vampires vs #145 Blue Mountain State Goats - Two terrible teams - but the Vampires lose again to get to 0-6 and begin challenging for the bottom rung of the ladder. Valletta - you do know there is no draft in GLB right? No advantage in being last


So at the moment - in Adams we've got:
3 of the current top 8
3 of the current 9 undefeated teams
4 of the top 25

Average Ladder Ranks:
Alpha: 73 (improved 19 from last week...is that right??)
Beta: 60 (improved 4 from last week)
Gamma: 84 (improved 11 from last week)

good write up... ive learned in this game never take it for granted... however the mushrooms... that could be intense.

I will be out of town tomorrow thru friday, but I will still update my team.... as for the great write-up- someone else is going to have to take it this week. I would not even want to take a stab considering this is upgrade week after the ladder match. I would like to see how it looks when everyone has updated. As for this week I am saying ADAMS will go 8-4. I see 6 games we should win, 2 we should lose and 4 which could go either way. I say we split those 4 close games to get to 8-4.

Well - of course, I'll be hoping the Stunners win! We've already discussed it and have just agreed we will play it heads up...to win...and no peaking at tactics/playbook selection.


This is probably a good time to say: I'm going to be out of the country with no computer access from ~April 4 thru April 12. That is going to be something like 5-7 games...including my game against Holy Guacamole - where Madden will be running things for me.

If Stunners play All Madden in that window...Madden will be in a tough spot - but I know he will just do his best to play it as fairly as possible. I have absolutely zero doubt about that.

So - if your team(s) whip my butt in that window...and I don't type 'good game' - It is because I'm not aware of it yet!

Cruise in the Caribbean with my wife for our 10th anniversary. I understand there is VERY slow and VERY expensive internet access on the ship -- but I probably need to avoid even looking as otherwise I'm likely to end up spending hours each day game planning rather than being romantic!
