Just work your playbook around it. It's not broken by any means...

It is if you're playing zone defense

If you're playing zone you're going to lose anyway. Zones are trash and believe me. I try to make them work.

Zones just need a couple of guys to be in man coverage at least. The Zones should just be trying to force a QB to either go through progressions and find a better target or take their chances with a heavy area of defenders. Should reward DC's for scouting lazy OC's...like me.

Like this whole fad of throwing the under routes. It would be nice to have a play where the Safeties or someone is playing under zones both strong and weak 4th's while there is still the same man coverage on the WR's. This forces a deep pass instead and gives the dline time to actually do something in a play.

That's still a man play with a different "shell". The fact of the matter is even with zones the comeback plays work EXACTLY THE SAME. Zone is broken. If you try and argue otherwise you either have bad information or are trying to get more epeople to play zone because it's bad.

EDIT: that's a royal "you". Not pointed at you bhall.

Hence the great big smiley on my post.

Not that it's stopped me from playing 100% zone D with my rookie team, mind you. But I haz grand experiment going on there.

Is this the "errbody takes monster hit and 50+ power tackling" strategy? It's a fun idea.
