Just retired my newly created HB superstar and now i dont have a SS point?

yeah i just tried to reroll my wr and got no points back

do scrims count as games played or something?

Scrims count as games played, only pickups games don't

To prevent weird things like making temporary experienced players, testing them in a scrim, then retiring them.

I'll admit it should be a bit more lenient for level 0 players, though.

yeah. league/ladder for non-experienced, scrim/league/ladder for experienced makes more sense.
