Hi everyone,

I'm thinking of creating a HB next season, so I've mocked up a couple:

Elusive: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/56063
Power: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/56066

Any feedback would be much appreciated. I feel like it's easier to build elusive than power because the power back needs some agility for Balance, but the elusive back doesn't really need strength. Am I underestimating the importance of strength for an elusive back?

Cheers,

Zapotek

power back doesn't need much agility for balance. just manipulate height and weight.

6 strength on a powerback will cost you an arm and a leg on power running.

Not sure how "strong" you are trying to make this powerback though so that effects things also.

Interesting. Assuming I want my powerback to be pure power, and Agility is only for balance, would this be better? Or is 3 Agi still too much do you think?

Powerback v2: http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/56109

Thanks.

Awareness and stamina down to 4, add speed to 9.

I'd take Str to 9 With slow built and all the other str buffs you're still capped. lose a point in stamina and put two points into awareness. You're going to want high carry awr and power running to make sure your power through and stiff arm both fire often.

Great, thanks for the help.

How is balance not important? Wouldn't a power rusher be 'knocked off balance' often?

No one ever said balance was not important.

Is there anything that power backs are better at than elusives?

Dragging defenders. Breaking tackles. turning TFLs into gains. Between the tackle runs.

Power backs used in an inside running game produce consistent, but not earthshattering, results. They're not likely to break too many 80 yard TD's, but they also not going to produce very many negative plays on runs either, and if they do, it's only going to be a yard or two.

An elusive back on a sweep can, and almost certainly eventually will, hit a home run TD. The downside is that they can, and definitely will, lose 3-5 yards dancing behind the line of scrimmage more often than they'll hit those home run TD's.

In many ways, it just comes down to how much you want to gamble.

^That is the difference between outside and inside runs... not elusives and powerbacks.
