I didn't get very far in the 1st when I saw that spam.

The best way to counter DAG? Don't run 3, 4, or 5 WR plays against teams that spam it.

And this is why so many teams lose. They miss the details. I promise you my defense doesn't run DAG all the time specifically because as Jampy blabbed to everyone, we can beat it. However, DAG is really good versus 3 WR sets, and solid against 4WR.

Guess what D2.0 runs a lot of? In fact, if I had to guess, they do so specifically because they're a run first team, and you can beat DAG with HB pitch plays. They also have some pass plays out of 3WR, tho. That meant that while DAG was still my best blitz when they go 3WR, I needed to change something so they didn't break off 30...40...whatever yard TD's when they called a HB pitch from 3 WR's.

Anyway, if you go and watch what my defense actually did for that game involved different plays for different formations and situations, and by being very careful with what types of plays I stick in my playbook, I can get a pretty close matchup via the tactics calls with the exact play I want for a situation. I've also been pushing my guys to change a few things in their builds the last few games to match up better when the sim did decide to put us in DAG vs a HB pitch.

And lastly, there were some sekrit skwerril things I did that I'm not telling never no way!

there were 2 pitches from 3wr all game by dd. they went for 23 yards, both fired against dag.

(in fact, you only ran 6 non-dag plays against 3/4wr sets).

Wait. I'm pretty sure Cover 1 and Man OLB and a few other things got called on my D. I'm pretty sure I didn't imagine those.

In fact, no matter what tweaks I make to a defense, I can guarantee you will not see DAG at all if you run nothing but 0,1,2, or 5 WR's. It's not my fault D2.0 thought they could run a mostly 3WR offense.

As for D2.0's defense, we knew going in that was their D.

btw, you want to hear something absolutely hysterical...I found a way better blitz than DAG. But, I can't use it because of builds.

Next season, tho...
