If I told you the difference between the speed of the LB and the RB, you would think there is no way that the LB catches that RB on a breakaway like that...

Although the LB does take a decent angle, with the speed difference the RB should be GONE...

Just why.... Is speeed scaled down? There must be something.

Because the sim factors in Pursuit while offense gets no "cheats" to their speed.

Part of it - PART only - watch the HB's energy bar. It starts at 91, by the time he gets to the LOS, it's at 37. At the first down yellow line,it's 13, falling steadily as he runs. Meanwhile, that DT (not LB) is in the 50s for energy until he starts his dive. The RB was tired.

Its not just this play, i could pull up plenty of examples of him getting caught with higher energy.

I have a rookie LB whose pursuit I ramped up to 60 currently (and only 27 sprinting). He pretty much runs down any ball carrier unless he gets blocked, or he's blitzing and fails his awareness checks.

That's a DT, not an LB. Also, you don't have to tell us their builds; the nearly 1 sec diff in 40 yd dash time is a pretty good clue.

Man, if I was a programmer, I'd be interested in finding the difference in length of the two paths the HB and DT take to convergence.

That DT has some pretty good jumping skills, 27" vertical. Damn.

What is the energy level of the 2?

Nevermind...just saw the HB's energy is at 1 and the DT's is in the 30's at the end of the play.

One thing that has always pissed me off about GLB is how DT's run down HB's on outside pitches. It is a bit ridiculous to think that the olinemen let the DT go and then the DT caught up to the HB down the sidelines.

This...

Shouldn't matter how much pursuit a player has... If a freaking 70 something speed HB hits the edge untouched and turns upfield with ~10 yards to speed up, it should be a TD every time....

Things like this is why no one uses the run game, it's way too easy to stop... I mean come on.. A DT catching a HB? A VERY fast one at that?
