Its a new league and we found that out this last week. At the beginning of the season we were all under the impression that Iowa would run away with the Championship again...myself included. But then everyone said its a good league but top heavy and it was a 4 team race. But now there are a couple teams making a statement and no clear cut playoff picture. This is what this game is all about...its fast paced, people are adjusting quickly, and the old cliche "Any given Sunday" no applies. Let the playoff race begin...and if you think you know...let me tell you...you dont!

1) Doof vs Twin City...Two 1-7 teams that really have had some tough losses and both teams seem to improve one week, playing their opponents tough, and then underachieve the next. Neither one of these teams are predictable on how tough they will play...only that they will probably lose. One has to win this week, though, and Im going with Doof. I think its going to be a close game of two defenses and wouldnt surprise me at all if it finishes 6-3.

2) Minnesota vs Reno...The easy pick here is who is going to win...the tough part is by how much. Minnesota seems to blow out the lower ranked teams but doesnt compete well with the higher ranked teams...but still is the favorite for the Wildcard. Reno seems to be a middle of the road team in this league. Winning the games theyre suppose to and losing the games theyre suppose to. Even though nothing is a "gimme" anymore. Im taking Minnesota big here.

3) Providence vs South End...Providence has not only become a powerhouse in the Gator League but I think Pariah is a well respected owner and coach around the game. I also know that Robbie and Viper put a lot of time in trying to improve their Revenge team. I think South End is a wildcard candidate and they have something to play for. I just think Providence is too strong right now.

4) Memphis vs Portland...2 weeks ago Portland played Providence tough and we chalked it up as a bad sim. And then last week Portland knocked off the defending champions. Now they are thinking playoffs at 5-3. Chalk up another win as Memphis seems like they are struggling to find an identity. Its going to be tough against that Niner Defense.

5) GSD vs LLF...Not sure what to make of this matchup. this game is a non-committed owner vs a non-active owner. I am going with LLF here only because I think it has the better roster and the Steel Dawgs dont seem to game plan anyway. No offense people, just calling it as I see it.

6) Murder City vs Iowa...GAME OF THE WEEK...Ive been waiting for this one as this could be very bad for Iowa or very good. If Iowa loses it would be their 3 loss in 4 weeks in league. However, if Iowa wins then the who entire league is in turmoil as to who the favorite is because then everyone would have beaten everyone. Murder City has established themselves as a clear favorite as they are still undefeated in league but their ladder game loss today has to have Jamz back pedaling a bit. Going to be a great game I think but Murder City wins a close one.
