Hey Corndog I thought you were looking into this ladder scheduling issue?

Once again we got unfairly matched up with a far superior sophomore team and frankly it's ridiculous to keep pitting us against this kind of competition. I mean you dont see the NCAA sending Florida St to play against the Patriots on Sundays, why are we getting impossible matchups? We here at the Fully Torqued Dry Guys would really like to see this bug fixed so we can gauge ourselves against equally talented teams, there's nothing we can take away and learn from these types of games when the outcome is essentially decided before we even play.

Ladder ranks before the game:
#202 Toast vs #211 Fully Torqued Dry Guys

As for Corndog's opinion on the subject of overrated rookie teams playing sophomore teams in the ladder:

And Texas Toast is no Patriots.

It's actually advantageous to be matched with a much higher ladder ranking opponent. If you lose, you lose fewer ELO points, if you win, you gain many more points. Crappy for the higher ranked team though.

so there's a problem with ranking rookie teams. lets fix that.

idea: all sophomore teams ranking automatically in the 1000 range and rookies in the 2000 range. instead of going by hundreds we go by thousands and that solves the problem.

I played football my freshman year of high school and my coach would have had a cow if we had to play some other school's jv team. The difference in size and ability is far too great. I agree with the OP on this one

But the best freshman teams in the nation would have no problem with it.

If it happened more, it would happen less.

The bottom ranked sophomore teams would be playing the top ranked rookie teams more often rather than mid ranked rookie teams.

So is this a bottom ranked sophomore team? If so, it still doesn't seem very fair. If it is not a bottom ranked sophomore team than your system doesn't seem to be working tbh. Also, how can something happen more and less at the same damn time?

Because choosing your own tier first creates isolation and two different elo brackets that makes them incomparable. Eventually, there will be no team within your tier within range, so it has to choose from the incomparable pool, and the game will likely end up being a poor game.

If it didn't always choose teams from your own tier, then the pools are relatively comparable, and the games would be relatively close. Or at least closer.

A lot of sophomore teams are ranked lower than they should be, and a lot of rookie teams may be ranked higher than they should be, and this is caused by "isolation bubbles" where they keep playing other overrated or underrated teams of their tier instead of playing teams of the other tier. When the bubble pops, you end up with a bottom ranked sophomore team playing rookie teams somewhere in the middle. The same happens for the top rookie teams...when their isolation bubble pops, they end up going from playing top ranked rookie teams to playing mid range sophomore teams.

think you idiots, if the sophomores never play the rookies than the global part of the ladder will be garbage (more garbage than it is now)...

the mid rookies have to play the bad sophomores...

dont like it? win, then you get the luxury of playing the top tier rookies lel.

Apparently you don't understand, the more you try to point something out the more that stands out. When you read Corndog's posts and don't understand them, that doesn't mean you go and post stuff contradicting it like it doesn't exist because you don't get how it works. That's a time for you to sit back, read, and learn.
