What are 3 common traits of good offensive coordinators?
They take what is given to them - if they scout and see that a team sucks at defending pitches to the right side, they run lots of pitches to the right.
They are unpredictable - OCs that have too many tendencies are easy to plan for defensively.
They have a backup plan - if their initial plan isn't working, they have built their AI to start doing other things.

What are 3 common traits of good defensive coordinators?
They continuously adjust to correct their weaknesses.
They don't ever sell out to stop a specific play/player.
They have multiple defensive plays for any given situation so that an opposing OC can't exploit a flaw over and over.

What separates a good special teams from a bad special teams?
A Punter.

What are the 3 most common reasons teams fail in PWG?
Lack of effort
Too experimental in their builds
Unreliable agents go AWOL

What are the 3 things that teams need to do to improve their game in PW?
Put in the time via scouting
Build most of your team with tried and true methods. Experiment with a small number of players.
Get a forum cheerleader to keep the agents involved.

How essential is boosting in PWG? How far can you go as a non-booster?
While it is very helpful, I think that you can succeed without boosting. Playoffs for sure, further if you put in the effort.

What are your favorite 3 builds on offense?
Possession WR, Rushing QB, Elusive HB with some power

What are your favorite 3 builds on defense?
Pass Rushing DT, Blitzing FS and SS

What is the one thing agents can do today to better their dots?
Make sure that their tactics are set properly.

What is the one thing owners/coordinators can do today to better their teams?
Watch game replays

What 2 attributes are the most overrated and why?
Strength, you can have a successful dot at any position that is low strength with the right scheme.
Jumping, I don't think that this serves any purpose in PW.

What 2 attributes are the most underrated and why?
Confidence, "Why did my dot run the other way from the ball carrier?" b/c he's a no confidence ass clown.
Vision, If a man can't see, he can't fight...or in this case, play dot ball.

What are 3 common traits of good offensive coordinators?
1. Scouts other team’s defense for holes.
2. Frequent changes to try to improve the offense.
3. Not easily scoutable offense by other DC’s.

What are 3 common traits of good defensive coordinators?
1. Scouts other team’s offense for patterns.
2. Frequent changes to try to improve the defense.
3. Studies trends on the offensive side of things and tries to come up with ways to counter those trends.

What separates a good special teams from a bad special teams?
*Ratio of TD’s scored vs TD’s given up.

What are the 3 most common reasons teams fail in PWG?
1. They think that what did well in Silver will do well in Gold.
2. They don’t scout.
3. They don’t make enough adjustments throughout the season.

What are the 3 things that teams need to do to improve their game in PW?
1. Study the good PWG team and incorporate what they do well into your AI’s.
2. Look for similarities in the top PWG teams as to what they all do that works.
3. Learn to scout better!

How essential is boosting in PWG? How far can you go as a non-booster?
*Not essential, no-no teams have won PWG over boosted teams, but it does make it harder. Boosting/CEQ help more early in the season.

What are your favorite 3 builds on offense?
1. High speed receiving TE – usually blows by the LB’s that cover them.
2. High strength rushing QB – CB’s & Safeties generally don’t have good tackling, can break a lot of tackles with the right blocking.
3. High strength run blocking OL – they pass block well enough, but getting 2+ yards on average on inside runs is key to maintaining a good TOP.

What are your favorite 3 builds on defense?
1. Balanced Zone safeties. Equal parts speed, agility, vision plus some strength & tackling make for a well-rounded safety that does well in zones.
2. High speed coverage LB’s – with a decent tackling and the right placement, don’t need high strength LB’s to help with run support, and these coverage LB’s can cover nearly any HB/FB and can even help double cover WR/TE.
3. High agility CB’s – forget about 2x speed, go for agility as that allows CB’s to make quicker adjustments to incoming passes for more pass deflections.

What is the one thing agents can do today to better their dots?
*22+ Stamina come playoff time.

What is the one thing owners/coordinators can do today to better their teams?
*keep a close eye on trends and learn how to use them or counter them.

What 2 attributes are the most overrated and why?
1. Vision – for offensive players, it just isn’t needed to be high. Except for QB’s, my offensive dots rarely get above 20 Vision.
2. Strength – very few builds really need it and it just isn’t as helpful as many think.

What 2 attributes are the most underrated and why?
1. Vision – for defensive players, especially coverage players, it as important as speed or agility.
2. Stamina – too many people keep this low, but when your stamina gets low, most to all of your attributes lose a %, so this is very underrated!

What are 3 common traits of good offensive coordinators?- Honestly, just gameplanning for every game, working hard, and being diligent. That's how all the best OCs are, including myself.

What are 3 common traits of good defensive coordinators?- Having a good base defense, the base AI and DPC matters a lot more than for being an OC because there are less changes from game to game. Also, being easy to work with and not getting frustrated, although to be honest, I've never worked with a DC, I've always been either the owner, DC, or head coach for all my teams.

What seperates a good special teams from a bad special teams?- No clue, I'm pretty bad at ST.

What are the 3 most common reasons teams fail in PWG?- Not boosting, running too much, letting outside runs beat them.

What are the 3 things that teams need to do to improve their game in PW?- QB pressure, better pass coverage, do more outside runs.

How essential is boosting in PWG? How far can you go as a non-booster?- Non-boosters will not beat a team like mine if LE gameplans for the game.

What are your favorite 3 builds on offense?- O-line, WR, receving TE.

What are your favorite 3 builds on defense? NT, CB, FS

What is the one thing agents can do today to better their dots?- Build with more vision.

What is the one thing owners/coordinators can do today to better their teams?- Work harder.

What 2 attributes are the most overrated and why?- Vision/confidence- neither does as much anymore

What 2 attributes are the most underrated and why?- Stamina/strength- both are often lacking in new teams and are essential to any good defense.

Knows which dots he plans on using on STs before the season starts

What are the 3 most common reasons teams fail in PWG?
The most common fail would be not planning what kind of game the team is going to play.

What are the 3 things that teams need to do to improve their game in PW?
Do the above

How essential is boosting in PWG? How far can you go as a non-booster?
Non-Boosters suck until they get the level 8 gear and at best will go to round 2 of the play offs

What are 3 common traits of good defensive coordinators?

DAI, understanding peewee, scouting

What seperates a good special teams from a bad special teams?

Having a good STs coach.

What are the 3 most common reasons teams fail in PWG?

They are too cute they play how they think things should work rather than how they actually do, they have holes all over which PWG coordinators are looking for, funky builds and agents and have DubJ as an owner

What are the 3 things that teams need to do to improve their game in PW?

Learn entry level exploits, be more conservative, scout and put time and effort into getting better

How essential is boosting in PWG? How far can you go as a non-booster?

It is difficult to play boosters who get the level 8 EQ before the non boosters. Also inferior teams can make plays or stop plays they should not be able to. CG is also tough for the same reason as the level 8s plus you are playing the best team.

What are your favorite 3 builds on offense?

Power HB, duel threat QB, high agilty BFB

What are your favorite 3 builds on defense?

pass rushing zone DT, run stuffing LB, the rest is cookie cutter

What is the one thing agents can do today to better their dots?

Follow coordinators wishes so their builds and tactics fit the coordinators schemes, don't get all stylish and crap

What is the one thing owners/coordinators can do today to better their teams?

Keep forums active, agents want to have fun and feel like part of a team. This is usually neglected and I an as guilty as anyone.

What 2 attributes are the most overrated and why?

This depends on the position. Like high speed on DBs can actually make them worse. Strength on blocking FBs, the need a little strength but it is more important to get to the LOS before the HB and engage someone.

What 2 attributes are the most underrated and why?

What are 3 common traits of good offensive coordinators?

To be a top offensive coordinator you have to put the time and work in each and every week. You cannot go in a look over the last game a team played and hope that they do not fix their holes. You have to think outside of the box and read the field from multiple games to see how they line up in every formation and what their defense does in every formation. Back when Gold was at it's peak and we made a few championship runs I used to recreate the other teams whole defense with exactly what I thought every player was doing on each play in each situation. Those are just a few of the ways I used to become a better coordinator.

I would say the 3 main things that contribute to you being a good offensive coordinator are as follows:
- Dedication to the offensive coordinator job week in and week out
- Building players around your offense to fit your playing style. You are not going to be a good team unless you learn how to build dots to fit you.
- Finally, just being willing to think outside of the box. You need to be able to read the defense and recognize what coverage's are there and who is doing what. Once you learn how to properly read a defense you will be able to draw up plays in your head that will work against that team even if no one else has used that play against them.

What are 3 common traits of good defensive coordinators?

I'm probably not the best one to answer this question so I will make this one short and sweet.

- Good DCs really have to get a grasp for how the DPC works. It is very difficult to build a defense without knowing what all the terms in the DPC actually mean. Cover man is a big on that you need to get familiar with. This is man coverage on one player and this allows you to move a player from one side of the filed to another to cover a certain player.
- Also from what I have noticed good DCs always adjust to what is working on offense. Some years slants are good and DCs adjust to that. Some years running is better and DCs adjust to that. You just have to be willing to change to be a good DC in Gold.
- Finally, the trick to being a good DC is watching other DCs and mimicking their plays. Most teams usually cannot come in and create all of their own players and be instantly successful with it. You need to study other teams and see what they do that works and adjust your defense to accordingly.

What seperates a good special teams from a bad special teams?

This one is a pretty simple question. I've never put much thought or effort into special teams and that's why my special teams are never that good. Really all you need to be a good special teams coach is effort. If you put in the time and effort, you will be a good STs coach.

What are the 3 most common reasons teams fail in PWG?

The main reason teams fail in PWG is because they don't know how to build correctly to fit their scheme and they don't have active agents that follow set plans. It is nearly impossible to be a good team in Gold if you don't build your dots around your scheme, especially on offense. Another reason teams fail is because of lack of understanding of the game and AI. It actually takes work to become good at this game. Builds are the main reason teams are bad, but understanding your Offense and Defense is just as important.

What are the 3 things that teams need to do to improve their game in PW?

I cannot stress it enough, building correctly has to be your number one priority coming into the season. That means you have to pay attention to training, SP allocation, and Capc/ALGs the whole season!

I would say another thing that could help teams improve is watching other good teams play. Learn how they do what they do on offense and defense. Ask questions and be proactive towards making your team better in all aspects of the game.

How essential is boosting in PWG? How far can you go as a non-booster?

Honestly, by the end of the season I don't think boost/non-boost is a big deal except in the championship. Non-Boosted teams will struggle against top teams until they level up to around level 10 when they can start capping their 2nd or 3rd attributes. The only advantage boosting really gives you by the end of the season is the ability to put SPs in SAs and 5th and 6th attributes without effecting your build too much. By the playoffs non-boosters should be able to have all their essential skills capped making them just as much of a threat as a boosted team.

At level 16 is where the boosted advantage comes back into play in the championship. Boosted teams are able to apply those extra SPs plus purchase new EQ. This is why it is so hard for a non-boosted team to win the championship. A non-boosted team has won PWG before so to all the non-boosted teams out there, there is a chance.

What are your favorite 3 builds on offense?

I absolutely love building players on offense. Most teams here in PWG, old and new, still do not understand how to build skilled position players like QB, WR, and HB. So without giving up how I actually build, I would say that WR is my favorite position to build on offense. There is just so much you can do with a WR to make him a beast in PW. The funny thing is that most teams still haven't figured out how to build them yet.

My 2nd and 3rd favorite positions are probably TE and QB. There are a lot of different ways you can build a TE to be successful in PW so I like the variety we see across all the teams in PWG and even the variety you can have on one team. As for QB I have just become really good at building them. Over the years I have figured out how to maximize a QB build to be one of the best QBs in PWG.

What are your favorite 3 builds on defense?

Defensive dots in Pee Wee aren't really that fun to build. Aside from defensive line you should be building every other position almost exactly the same. So I guess I would say that Defensive End is the only position I like to build on defense. Back in the day I think I had 2-3 seasons straight where a defensive linemen of mine won the MVP.

What is the one thing agents can do today to better their dots?

Pay attention to training and skill caps. If you just build blindly, you are not getting the most out of your builds and a few of your skills will probably end up about 5-10 SP below where they should have been.

What is the one thing owners/coordinators can do today to better their teams?

I would say the main thing you need to do as an owner and coordinator is stay organized. Keep all of your agents in the loop of how you want your team to be built in the coming season. Stay active and stay hungry for a championship!

What 2 attributes are the most overrated and why?

Speed, Speed, and Speed. Agents abuse speed in Pee Wee and I'm not really sure why. If your player doesn't have high enough agility and vision to balance it out then your 60+ speed is worthless especially on defense. Your dots should never end up with higher than 60 speed on defense (excluding EQ).

What 2 attributes are the most underrated and why?

I'm not going to give too much away but I would say Confidence and Strength. They both can play a major role on the offense and defense especially depending on what SAs you choose. Most PW owners play off confidence as if it is something that only matters in the upper leagues. They don't know what they're missing out on!

A close 3rd would be Stamina. I think most people know the importance of it but it is always just a skill that no one wants to pay attention to because it doesn't really make your dot "better". I would even say that I really underrate stamina on my own team and it has come back to bite me many times over the years.

What are 3 common traits of good defensive coordinators?
Having a top 5 defense for multiple seasons
Shutting down offensive power houses
Make adjustments game to game

What seperates a good special teams from a bad special teams?
S E P A R A T E S – Grammer?
Actually, making adjustments to keep teams from scoring on returns

What are the 3 most common reasons teams fail in PWG?
Punting on 4th and short
Not scouting and running plays into double/triple coverage
Throwing when you should be running, running when you should be throwing

What are the 3 things that teams need to do to improve their game in PW?
Scout, scouting is the difference, teams just use the GLB scout tool which can be misleading at times
See what other teams are doing. Most didn’t get good doing their own thing, most are copy cats then make it their own.
Make adjustments

How essential is boosting in PWG? How far can you go as a non-booster?
Boosting gets you the 4th attribute or 5th attribute, it could help with stamina or confidence. Most unboosted teams can hang for a couple of quarters then the boosted teams wear them down.

What are your favorite 3 builds on offense?
Example: Power rushing QB, High catching HB, Agility based Oline.
Power Hbs that are mostly speed. They make great inside and outside rushers
I like the way I make offensive lineman, I think I have that down pretty well, strength and all 5 attributes are all high end in points.
WRs, I make some of the best speed based Wrs

What are your favorite 3 builds on defense?
Pass rushing Des. I make some pretty good defensive ends and with a great blitzing package I can get quite a few sacks which I tried and succeeded last season.
DTs as well, Don’t have a 3rd

What is the one thing agents can do today to better their dots?
Start building correctly from creation
Have a plan, Train correctly

What is the one thing owners/coordinators can do today to better their teams?
Have someone that knows what they are doing coordinate their teams.
Boot the coordinators that have more than one interest, when their teams meet up makes for a bad situation for everyone
Post more in their team forums to keep agents active and interested

What 2 attributes are the most overrated and why?
Confidence – don’t need it
Vision – Seen many great players with low vision

What 2 attributes are the most underrated and why?
Stamina – Gotta have it or your players wear down, at least 21
Strength – Most player play better with strength

What are 3 common traits of good offensive coordinators? Innovative builds and schemes (like strong rushing QB or low strength OL). Understand QB vision/progressions. Variety in playcalling without tendencies.

What are 3 common traits of good defensive coordinators? Understanding pass coverage. Stopping rushing QBs. Taking the two minutes to tag.

What separates a good special teams from a bad special teams? Luck and not having completely inappropriate players on the field.

What are the 3 most common reasons teams fail in PWG? Bad builds. Bad defense.

What are the 3 things that teams need to do to improve their game in PW? Improve defensive schemes.

How essential is boosting in PWG? How far can you go as a non-booster? Boosting isn't necessary (today) to get to playoffs and maybe even win the first round, but you won't win silver or gold unless you can get lucky and catch an exploit in your booster opponents defense.

What are your favorite 3 builds on offense? Receiving TE. Receiving RB.

What are your favorite 3 builds on defense? Run defense safeties. Coverage CBs/LBs.

What is the one thing agents can do today to better their dots? Moar vision! Seriously though, build for PeeWee not long-term. Very few PW builds need to take ANY attribute beyond the second cap. Round builds win in PW.

What is the one thing owners/coordinators can do today to better their teams? Redo your defensive schemes this offseason.

What 2 attributes are the most overrated and why? Stamina and confidence. Not that they don't help, but in PW with limited time and SPs there are other places to spend effort.

What 2 attributes are the most underrated and why? Vision and jumping. Key to getting players into the right place on the field and this is the hardest part of PW.

As you can see, I had quite a few really solid responses. Only two guys particularly thought their ideas were so much better than the rest of us that they wouldn't share too much. Hopefully this helps some agents and gives us a better product in PW!

The contradictions will always be there when you are talking about builds. Everyone thinks they have their own special way of building but very few actually know how to do it well.
