I think it was over ambitious last week underestimating a couple of the teams. I still finished 4-2 straight up but that is only relatively good...TxSteve was 11-1 in picking the ladder games which are much more difficult. Ill keep this going although Im questioning my own credibility in picking games.

Last Week:
Straight up: 4-2
Vs Spread: 1-5

Season Total:
Straight up: 20-10
Vs Spread: 12-18

1)Portland vs Reno: A good matchup. Both teams have winning records and trying to keep pace with the playoff favorites. Last week Reno upset the Maniax and Portland demolished LLF. Im thinking a close defense matchup with Portland coming out on top. This one could go either way though.

Portland by 2

2) DEI vs Iowa: DEI is having a rough time and it doesnt get better with Iowa on the schedule. DEI played Murder City tough this week and will probably keep it close until the second half vs the Rogues.

Iowa by 14

3) Minnesota vs LLF: Time for me to stop giving LLF any love. No owner means no preparation and thats exactly what you need vs TxSteve's club. Minnesota is ready for the challenge.

Minnesota by 17

4) Providence vs Murder City: GAME OF THE WEEK. The matchup we have all been waiting for. Two juggernauts go head to head to see who rules the Gator league. Both teams are undefeated and looking very strong. But someone has to lose. Providence's planning and high octane offense gives them a slight advantage.

Providence by 5

5) Memphis vs GSD: I feel sorry for GSD as they are going to take the brunt of the frustration from the Maniax bad luck loss last week to Reno. GSD just doesnt have it in them to compete right now and need alot of improvement in order to win. The Maniax get back to .500.

Memphis by 17

6) South End vs Twin City: The Revenge went back to the drawing board after the big loss to Iowa last week and The Shockers new offense could provide some problems. Two owners trying desperately to improve. This is going to be a great matchup. I think the team that starts out the quickest is going to survive.

Twin City by 7

Results:
Straight up: 4-2
Vs Spread: 1-5

Good Luck Everyone!!!

Nice work! I'm grateful for these - because I hadn't even noticed that we had a HUGE game with Providence and Murder City meeting!

Let's get real - we ALL know I got very lucky in my ladder picks last week.

Beyond that though - its not the 'picking skill' that is awesome and fun about this - it is the conversation and thought that the thread generates.

Even if you were going 0-6 every week - I would still think it was super fun!

I always like reading them because you get someone else's perspective on your team...and another perspective on your matchup as well.

I hate that I have to play MCD tomorrow, hope they win today. I want the loss to have little effect on my Ladder Rank!!!

there's no way I can cover that spread my offense is atrocious and my defense can't get off the field. Hope you prove me wrong though!

Thanks, It was a close one until you pulled away at the end. Since we don't play each other again, I want a scrim rematch soon!!!

I got no pressure as well, you chewed me up in the passing game, and then that long run came exactly at the right time. The timing for your team was on POINT, fumble right when you needed it, TD right when you needed it.

You guys are a top 10 team without a doubt, my only major complaint is WHY THE F**K did my team lose more than 5 spots in the ladder ranking when we lost to a team more than 10 spots higher on the Ladder?

Kills me, we are better than more than half the teams in front of us on that ladder, and it is such a slow crawl to move up.

The Midseason teams from last year got horsef'd in the ELO rankings starting way too low. I'm not sure how much we have left in the tank.

The timing for all the big plays was crazy - not to mention it could have been way different if your FG kicker made a couple of those early long attempts. Morale shifts etc

Yeah, dude it's crazy but statistically it's almost identical. Really close game, and shows how close we are at the top. The playoffs are going to be fun!!!

Now it's just working for the easiest road to the championship, because one of us is going to have to play each other in the semis. Sorry Jamz but I have to root for Iowa against you to cloud it up some more. Because I don't want to meet you or Iowa in the semis LOL.

We beat Iowa in the regular season last year but they pulverized us when it counted. So we're just going to have to see. Still got Minn and Iowa in the next 3 games. Brutal stretch.
