Both teams are evenly matched with the same records and matchup lolbars. DeepRoute has put up more of an offense this season but have been streaky with a blowout loss to Tampa and a shutout win against the Pansies. Sacramento on the other hand has not performed well on the offensive side of the ball but has done exceptionally well on the defense holding opponents to only 10 points allowed. This game will come down to the late 4th quarter where I believe that DeepRoute will mount some plays together to take a lead and hold on to it.

The lolbars do not look good for Helmand but this is probably in part due to no FB on the roster to keep a spread offensive mentality. Tampa has seemed to take more of the balanced approach boasting the 2nd best rushing attack in the league. Despite the records being the same Tampa as of late has turned on the intensity with putting up 28 points against DeepRoute who shutout the Pansies. I believe Larssen has Tampa dialed in back to Season 1 form and walking away with a win.

South 'Cooley-High' Rangers (0-2) (139) at Detroit Foreclosures (1-1) (91)

Coming off the large win against Ministry, Detroit is riding high. They have struggled offensively but have taken care of business on the defensive side of the ball as of late. The struggles won't last long as the Rangers are the worst in the league defensively and that is exactly what Detroit needs to get the cobwebs out of their offensive slump. On the flip side, the Rangers do hold the 3rd best offense in the league but in due part of a shoot with Ministry. Detroit will rely on its defense to get them through but will put up some points this week to have a nice win.

Canton has been a disappointment coming off a league championship into a new league. There were higher expectations from them and rumors are swirling of internal team issues within the roster. This has been exhibited on the field with constant bickering and name calling after games. One notable quote by Cam Newton of the Bulldogs summed it all up "Listen up fool, we are the best team in GLB, we won our championship and because of that we should keep winning. I got my paycheck, I have my blow and leave me the #$%@ alone!". With attitudes like that, there is no hope for this team. Rhode Island comes in on a losing streak, but they are starting to find their groove. They have been putting the time on the practice field against friendly teams and will get their first win this week.

New York Gangsters (2-0) (102) at Texas Toast (2-0) (164)

This game was a very close call to game of the week as it pits the top teams in the Gamma division against each other. Last seasons division winner New York is in a prime spot to take a sizable lead in their division taking on the new blood of Texas Toast. Texas despite the newcomer of the league has done exceptionally well in holding their own. New York will need resort to some crafty defensive work to hold down Texas but behind the play of the bookend DE's the Gangsters will walk away victorious.

This game has been talked about by a few agents as the game of the division but frankly the way Ministry has been playing lately, Alpine should have a easy victory here. The talent exist on Ministry but offensively they have a chemistry issue. "We are still learned our strengths and weaknesses while contending against early season jitters" said Owner Stobie. Alpine is the team to beat sitting as the best offensive and defensive team in the league. Alpine has a smothering defense that sets their offense up with plenty of opportunities as well as reducing any morale the opposing team has to score. Alpine should win this game by 7+ points but I am going to say it will be a little closer but they still get the victory.

PREDICTION: Alpine 17 - Ministry of Dotball 14

I did see that but I try not to look at scrim results when reviewing the team as you never know what the team is doing.

Wrapping up the first round of divisional play should give us the early favorites for the playoffs. Alpha's a mess and while this week will help clear the air it's going to be anyone's game for a while. Alpine has a chance to get a jump on MoD while they have bad chem before the end of the season, and Detroit may be the team challenging for the lead at this point in the season. And Gamma has the battle of the 2-0s to establish early dominance.

I agree with all of Stobie's winners, although I think the Gangsters are going to win by a bigger margin as they're ready to make a statement. I'd prefer a bigger win for Alpine to make watching the game a little less stressful, but I'll take any win we can get.

Good luck MoD! I expect that it will be a close game as well. Hopefully we can pull off a win.
