I played my ladder game last night at 21:00 server time and my game this morning was at 4:00 server time.

Being a Wolfpack of One is tough some days. Oh well, at least it helps me to save up some SPs so that I can think about assigning them to where I need them. I'll get a lot of time to think, because my next game won't be for at least 48 hours. Sitting on 1500 to 2100 SPs is fun, getting my only two XP games in less than eight hours, not as much.

It is better on days when you aren't the last ladder game to sim. I love being first thing in the morning so that I've got something to look at when I have my coffee at work.

I used to pick the EEPL promotion because they had they earliest sim for that very reason.

For teams I care about, I always prefer a late afternoon or evening sim league. I can't bring myself to not check the box score on mornings when I don't have time to watch dots.

Being an Englishman, I'd love to have my games early morning American time, as at present a lot of my games are at 1 and 2 in the morning.

Is it easier than Hawk League? If so, I may petition for a switch

No. We had three teams end the season in the top 15 in the ladder, one in each division. Playoffs are all like high level ladder games.

Wolf league had 4 really strong teams and then a bit of a dropoff as I recall; so making playoffs was fine but there were no soft spots in the playoffs.
If a 5th top team moved in without one of the others moving out it could be brutal, especially if they moved to Alpha. We'll see if STL from Grizzly Alpha will step up and challenge for a spot this season or not.

Hawk had a lot more teams in the "top tier" of the league, but didn't have the strong ladder finishes by most of those teams - OG being the exception - so the fight to just get into the playoffs was vicious.
