I have a HP laptop and when i watch replays it will crash my browser (firefox). I pull up command prompt and it says from anywhere 300K-600K which is when it eventually crashes. should i try a certain browser? update my graphics card? Buy a new laptop? lol

anyone else having this problem with replays?

I would recommend Chrome. It can be better at memory usage, especially in HTML5 type websites like this.

Here is a graph displaying the memory efficiency for various browsers:

Sorry hosh, I hope it will work.

Mind me asking how much memory your laptop has and how much it is using when all your browsers are closed?

I just reset it to factory defaults and it uses 32% of physical memory with nothing running. I have 4GB of RAM. Thanks for your quick responses btw

Checking with a co-worker who has a very similar setup as you. 4GB of Ram and he is using up more memory with browsers closed.

We have been having issues getting it optimized for mobile devices, because a game like this can suck up a lot of memory, but on a laptop with 4GB it should be running fine on a modern browser.

Gotta ask, is Chrome the same as Firefox but just uses less physical memory?

It works great (besides a few minor things) on my iphone 5. Ive only been on this game a few times on my laptop. After Bort fixed the issues for replay I could do almost anything on my tiny phone

Incoming boring nerd data...

Chrome: Open Source Engine - Chromium
It is leading the browsers in HTML5 compliance. Which is very important for GLB2 because we are using many "bleeding edge" code.

Firefox: Open Source Engine - Gecko
Firefox probably has the most "extensions" and in terms of memory usage, Firefox and Chrome use about the same. It's a bit further behind on the HTML5 dev side of things.

Memory usage between browsers:
http://goo.gl/HN3KMI - Firefox and Chrome are about even here

Memory Effectiveness between browsers:
http://goo.gl/DtKrfB - Chrome is much better with memory effectiveness. The lower the number the less memory the browser uses in a single tab, so besides Opera, Chrome wins here.

http://html5test.com/
My Chrome scored 505 out of a possible 555 points. Which basically is saying 505 out of 555 HTML5 features are supported by my Chrome browser.
My Firefox scored 446 out of a possible 555 points. Which basically is saying 446 out of 555 HTML5 features are supported by my Firefox browser.
My Safari scored 397 out of a possible 555 points. Which basically is saying 397 out of 555 HTML5 features are supported by my Firefox browser.

I'm a bit biased towards Chrome and I have to admit that I picked the memory usage graphs as examples. Tom's Hardware gave the "2013 Browser Championship Award" to Firefox, but because we use many HTML5 features and because the replays are very memory intensive, I would still suggest Chrome.

So, just to be clear, it's still not working with the fresh install of Chrome?

I decided to look into some newer browsers with high HTML5 support and stumbled on Maxthon - http://www.maxthon.com/

My Maxthon Cloud Browser scored 515 out of a possible 555 points. Which basically is saying 515 out of 555 HTML5 features are supported by my Firefox browser.

It's using less memory than my chrome (all extensions disabled) and supports more HTML5 features. In my opinion, it looks way too cluttered with features, but maybe tweaking the options will help clean it up.

Like Chrome, it has a cloud based save system, so you can save all your settings from computer to computer, plus access various files. Just an idea for anyone looking for an alternative.

EDIT I'll be using Maxthon almost 100% over the next few weeks to see if it has any conflicts with GLB2. So far, I'm very impressed.

EDIT 2 It may be using more memory than I initially thought.

I couldn't watch replays on my MacPro. Very jumpy. Just downloaded Maxthon and it worked perfectly.

I've been using my Macbook Pro, every once in a while (at least two or three times a day) GLB crashes my computer to where I need to do a forced shutdown.

I have experienced some problems with my Macbook pro as well connected to GLB2.
