Everything you need to know about how the end of a GLB2 season works!
When is the last day of the season?
The season lasts 48 days, with the final ladder game on the last day of the season, day 48. After that, there are 3 days set aside for contract resigning, recruiting, and everything else related. The final day of the season should usually be day 51, unless there are extenuating circumstances such as required code updates, etc.
When do the playoffs start?
Playoffs start on day 43 and last 6 days. There are also ladder games played each "week" for everybody, including teams not in the playoffs.
When can I extend contracts for the players on my team? When do I have to get players resigned by?
Contracts can be extended starting on day 43, and contract extensions must be completed by day 51.
How can I tell whose contracts are expiring?
On the roster page, all players who have not resigned with the team will be marked as "EXPIRING."
When do contracts expire? When will players be dropped from my team if they do not resign?
Contracts technically expire at the end of day 48, but players will not be dropped until the end of day 51. During the 3 day resigning period (day 49-51), players with expired contracts may sign with ANY team.
I am a player who does not want to resign with his current team. How do I get off the team?
Starting on day 49, you can receive contracts from ANY team just like if you were a free agent or on a CPU team. At the end of day 51, you will be dropped from the team's roster. Players on CPU teams or teams with inactive owners can receive contracts from any team at any time.
When I resign players before day 48, the salary dollar values displayed are still for the previous season. When will the values update?
At the end of day 48, when your league's level and salary cap are increased, all player salaries will be recalculated to the proper values for their current level.
But if the salaries get recalculated, can I inadvertently go over the next salary cap?
No. When the salaries are recalculated, they should take up the same percentage of the overall cap for the team. Any team who fits under the current salary cap will fit under the next salary cap, assuming we do not make any balance changes by lowering salary caps.
What happens to inactive or CPU teams in my league at the end of the season?
On day 49, all inactive/CPU teams will be removed from their current leagues and all the players on the rosters will be cut.
What happens to the leagues at the end of the season? If inactive teams are removed, will they be consolidated?
After all inactive/CPU teams have been removed, the leagues with the fewest remaining human controlled teams will be merged into the remaining leagues, as long as there is space for them. Any remaining spots needing to be filled will be filled by CPU controlled teams.
I want to reset my team to the Rookie tier again next season. How do I do that? When will it get reset and what happens?
Once the playoff weeks start (on day 43), owner can mark their team for reset by using the checkbox that appears on team profile page. The team will be reset and moved to its new league on day 49, and the roster will be cleared.
I want a Sophomore level team next season! How do I get one?
Get yourself on the team wait list at:
http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/buy_team
Once on the wait list, you can choose either Rookie or Sophomore as your desired tier.
I am on the team wait list. Will I get a team next season?
Yes, unless you go inactive and do not log in for a week or more. We will do our best to make sure everyone who got on the wait list gets a new team next season.
I haven't renewed my team yet. When will it expire? When will it be auto renewed?
Unrenewed teams will expire at the end of day 48. Once it is expired, the team will be removed from its league, but it will still be stored so we can look up past games, records, etc. Teams on auto-renew will start to be processed during the playoff week. You will receive a couple of PM reminders if the team is expiring.
