Good morning. I am the DC and defensive recruiter for the Pain Nation Midgets, a top 100 season one team. After a slow start learning the AI we got hot at the end of the season, but came to the determination that our ignorance of player building was too much to overcome. So we are repotting the team with rookie players.
On defense I run an aggressive hybrid front seven with man to man coverage and one or two man zone over the top. We need players at all positions, and offer quality build advice but flexibility to experiment.
We want boosting players, preferably active agents who will share wisdom and ask questions. We are all learning. Also, I love having GLB vets who are coming back after long absences. Just a personal thing.
Here's the roster with build goals. I will keep it updated as it fills up.
DT - dm153450
DT - dm153540
DT - MC Hammer
LDE - wannaknow's
LDE - jesse33
Strong and stout. Low and sqautty and powerful. Don't worry about penetratin. Just blow people up.
RDE - McGruffHawk - http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/27177
RDE - Phisch
OLB - nortobc
OLB - Carpy
OLB - jesse33
Long and lean and focused on awareness and technique skills.
MLB - ccrogers
MLB - wannaknow
Very balanced. More speed than power, but some of both. You will cover man to man a lot because to the blitzing OLB's.
CB - sturge
CB - Phisch
CB - Griz
CB - jesse33
CB - 89stepside
Man to man specialists. Balance between speed and quickness and footwork. High vertical. You won't play zone. Like, ever. Focus on creating turnovers more than tackling.
FS - iamwallace
FS - jesse33
Ideally I want to run single deep safety, but it's hard to do at a low level. Focus on speed, pursuit, zone, awareness and reaction skills. Turnovers more than tackling.
SS - jesse33
Again, we'll have run more two deep to begin, but long term this position is more thumper than range. He'll function in a similar role to the MLB, playing coverage on backs and TE's and flowing to the ball.
