Only drawn up plays through the line or could a TE or FB lead block on a sweep?

I'm curious about this as well...what the exact definition according to the sim is

Along these lines, if we can get some Corndog assistance...if we're lead blocking, does run block awareness get checked at all, or just lead block Awr? Basically, do they help each other, or is only one active at a time?

This was asked on the server and not answered.

Just a note that centers do not have the lead block stat.
Centers don't lead block as they don't ever pull. They are just run blocking. Same with OG's or OT's on regular inside runs where they aren't pulling.

pretty much if you are a linemen and you are pulling during the play then you are lead blocking. FB's I would assume are always lead blocking.

I'm guessing WRs lead block on some WR screens, like Singleback Trips WR1/WR3 Screen, or Singleback HB Screen Weak?
Kind of annoying WRs can't get Lead Block skill, but they can get run block skill. Or perhaps WRs are just always programmed to be in "run block" mode and don't use lead block.

The only lead block skill is Lead Block Awareness, which WRs don't really need, and probably woulnd't invest in - it'd only fire on screens, and only would help them find the CB right in front of them. No blocking SAs for WRs is kind of crappy, but the lead block skill is a nonissue, I'd say.

I wonder if Lead Block awareness is only active for the initial lead block, then if you get a pancake, run block awareness takes over when searching for another target?

To me it's the other way around. Run Block Awareness on the line at the start of the play. Get your pancake, then going down field looking for another defender to block would be Lead Block Awareness. The Downfield Blocker trait gives you Lead Block Awareness bonus.

For a down linemen, I could see that. But for a Fullback, they're in lead block mode on every single rushing play by the HB or QB. Yet they can invest into run block awareness, which makes me think it comes into play after the initial lead block is engaged.
Guards, OTs, and TEs get lead block awareness because they do pull for pitches and screens.

I would assume they work together with a bigger bonus being needed when lead blocking to find and engage a defender quickly.

Yeah I forgot about the FB.
I ment for lineman.
