If you sign with a CPU-owned team, you can play now, while still waiting for a possible offer from a human owned team (you can leave a CPU team whenever, human teams at the end of season). Also, if you want to get consideration, you might want to open your build up and let people see what your player can do (go to your player's page, hit the Settings button, and use the tab for Sharing).
