Similar to the idea of having a "blocking TE" it seems that similar to rookies, even vets will tend to be more rushing oriented or receiving oriented and it makes sense to have a rhb depth chart slot in addition to your normal HB slot for your Darren sproles'/Pierre Thomas combos

When you start using custom slots the defense needs a way to react. You can't tag and bort doesn't actually want more offense customization which is why he took away the per formation offense charts.

You can customize just fine. Bort removed the ability of teams to effectively have two different offensive rosters to flip the playstyle at a whim. Teams gotta pick an identity on offense now and go with it.

I would argue that the New Orleans saints have picked an identity that includes a scat back and a power rusher
Not being given the option to throw to someone who can catch while not throwing to someone who can't catch is an actual problem
And since I can't set my offense to actually hold backs in as blockers yet because it just doesn't work at low levels makes this more of a problem
Now if you have a 50/50 offense you're either in danger of rushing with a receiver who isn't good in the trench or throwing to someone who simply cannot catch
That's very different from "pick an offensive identity and stick to it"

Give your rusher some catching skills or pick plays that don't have the hb early in the progressions.
