Don't know if this is in the works or if it's already been suggested but I think it would be a decent idea to consider having an official GLB ladder tournament of the top 16 or top 32 ladder teams at the end of the season or whenever best convenient. Maybe during the following season which would be similar to how the Champions League is in Soccer. It wouldn't add much of a burden because you could just do that tournament during the off days when there aren't either league or ladder games.

Ok, fair enough, well how about a tournament of champions like GLB 1. But it's just the champions of each league.

Tournaments should start for sure. Guessing it's "on the way" but not here yet. Bort and corndog have specifically mentioned tournaments on the off day, and that they won't count for ladder ranking. Heck there's even filtering in place for it. They just haven't done it yet.
Tournament of champions, or of playoff teams, or of age bracket - any is fine. 21 leagues right now, that'd be 84 playoff teams. That's about 12-13 weeks of games for double-elimination.

There are some very good teams in very tough leagues who might not get a chance to even compete for a league title...
A Ladder title would give these same teams a chance to win something.

Sort of how the team I DC is in the hardest league so far this season, is 26th on the ladder, but won't even make the playoffs in all likelihood.
