I've been building a cb returner and just realized he will never be as good as a hb or wr because he cant juke or have any of the other carrying abilities a offensive player can have... not cool man

The days where CBs can be returners in GLB are gone. They don't have the carrying attributes to be successful either, not just the abilities.

So remove the option for return awareness attribute and the returnspecialist trait

it's still used on interception and fumble returns according to the tooltip. Not that I can imagine anyone bothering to invest much of anything into a skill that will get used a dozen times an entire season at most.

I think it would balance out if there was some ability for defensive returners. Or just add kr and pr into the pick six ability

Even irl hbs and wrs are better returners.... so..... fair
Devin Hester came into the league as a CB and has only ever been shitty as a WR when they tried to move him there but is one of the best Returners ever.
Patrick Peterson is Scary as a returner.
Deion Sanders another one of the best ever.
It might be more rare in the pros to come from the defensive side but it still happens. those running skills to be a returner should be an option for a DB, you'd still be forced to chose where to put the points in so its not like it would make an insanely good player just another type

The thing is, I don't think Bort is looking for STOPs or even KR/PR only bots in this sim.
Returning the ball requires all of the skills that you would put into a rushing player. Going forward:
HBs are the go to returners.
WRs are the returners that people who are too cheap to pay the extra 50 flex will choose.
CBs are the returners that people will build once, because they use to build them in GLB1, but will never build again.
The fact that Return Specialist SA was in the CB tree was stupid; it only convinced people that CBs should be returners, when they lacked all of the other SAs and had the wrong ALGs.

And for people who want to pay half as much salary to their returner for very little loss.

Nah, because their receiving skills won't be there if they also want running skills and physical skills.
HBs have everything that a returner needs, they can play HB without being any worse, as the only thing they need that a HB doesn't need is return awareness.
