Do we know yet how the playoffs are going to work with the new league structure?

If so, spill.

Well if it's anything like the NFL, one team per division would be the division winner. I'll use my league as an example, if playoffs started tomorrow.

Teams

Alpha Division
1 X Denver Broncos 5-3-0
2 Syracuse Nutty Professors 3-4-1
3 Angola Blood Diamonds 3-5-0
4 Wichita Stealth 2-5-1

Beta Division
1 X Steiner Vipers 5-3-0
2 Y Las Vegas Outlaws 4-4-0
3 Columbus Destroyers 3-5-0
4 Rome Black Knights 1-7-0

Gamma Division
1 X Red Bank Royals 6-1-1
2 Y Corning Cows 6-2-0
3 Y Minnesota Reapers 5-3-0
4 Houston Texans 3-4-1

X- Denotes Division winner
Y- Denotes Playoff team

So if they take 6 teams to make it even, 5 teams with the best team in the league getting a bye.

If the best team gets a bye, then there are 5 teams left. Using your example, the playoffs would have 6 teams, playing 3 games between them. Which leaves 3 teams for the next round. Are you suggesting that the second round would give a bye to the best team?

I'm thinking that you really either need to take 4 or 8 to the playoffs to make it easy, or you take 7 (Top 2 plus best other) and then you can give a bye to the best team in the league for the first round.

Well let's say the best team gets a bye week the first round they will have to add a team.

Red Bank Royals 6-1-1 vs Las Vegas Outlaws 4-4-0
Corning Cows 6-2-0 vs Steiner Vipers 5-3-0
Denver Broncos 5-3-0 vs Minnesota Reapers 5-3-0

If they add they bye week

Red Bank Royals 6-1-1 (bye)

Corning Cows 6-2-0 vs Las Vegas Outlaws 4-4-0
Minnesota Reapers 5-3-0 vs Denver Broncos 5-3-0
Steiner Vipers 5-3-0 vs Syracuse Nutty Professors 3-4-1 or Houston Texans 3-4-1 (depending on points scored)

It'd have to be the second one, as the first example leaves 3 teams after the first round.

A bit of clarification by the PTB would be nice.

I just don't think it would be god to have a team with 3-4 wins in the playoffs, well in both systems one team would have to have a bye

I'd happily have it the top from each division and then the best runner up, for a 4 team playoff.

Seeing as how the season is only 16 game weeks, I think it's just a 2 week, 4 team playoff. That'd mean 3 division winners and a single wildcard.

I like it. People complained about the regular season not mattering in GLB1. This format makes regular season more important.

It is each of the division winners and a wild card team. 4 teams, 2 weeks. Then I think Bort wanted to do an All Star game in there somewhere too.
