I got the team this season to see what it was all about, and would like to start again with new players to boost, etc. Will this be possible?

My guess is yes, just send a request to support and empty your roster first. I am planning to do the same thing.

Yes, we'll have a method to flag your team to say you want to reset to Rookie. It will show up near the end of the season.
You'll lose your ladder rank (reset your ELO score to the basement), and it will dump your players and replace them with CPUs. Your team will then be put randomly into the new rookie leagues when they are created.
