Did anyone go with this idea to start out the game? I see passing works very well for a lot of teams which is pretty cool this early on. But, are there any out there with an all rushing team? Run blocking WR's and all? Curious how it works this early.

sounds awful seeing how OP passing is.

considering how bad full rqbs are and the ability to run in one direction i guess i just dont see the point myself.

I did the run blocking WRs on the test server, but decided to go with 100% possession WRs this time around. I'm still a "100%" run focused team, but I still throw the ball something like 10% of 1st downs, 25% of second and longs (but I won't say what "long" is in my tactics), 40% of 3rd and mediums, 55% of 3rd and longs, 85% of 3rd and very longs. As such, my QB is still putting up decent yards and I could probably pass on all three downs and be in pretty good shape, even without pass blockers or a pass focused QB.

There are a lot of skills to build up to get good at running, and your blockers need to focus on it so as to surpass the balanced or blitzing D-line builds. They need enough lead blocking and speed to get to the secondary, so running is going to be harder to do this early.

Outside running is good against some teams, but you really can't rely on your outside blockers yet.

i bet long is screen passes

olines are weak are running backs arent good enough to carry the teams workload yet, i think.

by the end of the season people should be outside rushing like beasts. there are a couple plays that are very hard to stop especially if the wr is a blocker.

screen passes are not good in glb2.

i assumed that they suck, for now anyways. some of the best wide receivers take like a full second to cut upfield, im sure its not much prettier for rbs

So running does not work well in this game... gotcha. In the long run, if built "right", it still wont work well? Like for example, Power Run Block/Intimidation builds on all blockers/WRs/TEs/FBs.

Bhall ran a passing team on the test server and there were lots of teams that ran the ball well, mine included.

RQBs don't make a difference though because they are not OPed in GLB2 the way a lot of their routes were in GLB1. In which case, you need to be able to pass the ball with efficiency even if you are going to run on almost 100% of 1st and 2nd downs.

running works but being that one dimensional isnt exactly good. rqb running plays never worked very well on the server. better to be a dual threat. screen passing is terrible so an rq bdo esnt even have that as an optino

blocking wrs do well but it is likely you wont ever be a really great scoring team and this game at higher levels is much more harder to prevent scoring.

i ran quite a bit of both styles. DC always remained pass though. Pass first was always a more dominant style but rush first teams did quite a bit of damage too. i redid The Replacement Players all the time since they werent in league play. They had make ups of all pass, all run, super special teams, etc...plus i tested both super and non superstar teams.
