Warrior General Games

This ranking is loosely based on fact and largely based on opinion. Thanks for reading. Please post and comment!

1. Fighting Gamecocks (1) - It is finally here! Week 7 gives us FGC against TazVikes! This should be a great game and one I plan to watch from start to end.

2. Whodey's Experiment (2) - Another nice win this week, but no more freebies. I am very excited to see what WE has to offer this year and hopefully we will get a view of that against Subversive and All Pro.

3. TazVikes Nordica (3) - See above. Time to see what the TazVikes can do against the elite this year.

4. Chicago 85' Bears (4) - What a nice win this week against the Guns. They get 4 weeks against teams with bad records before things get serious again. The Bears should have a nice win streak going before returning to the meat of their schedule.

5. All Pro Falcons (5) - They played fantastic against the Flowers but things get even more difficult now against Minnesota and then Whodey's Experiment. I think we can learn a lot about the surging Vikings in week 7 against the Falcons.

6. Royal Cocks (6) - They sure didn't play any defense this week, but the Midgets could even begin to slow down Royal. This Royal group is looking good so far. Still, with this schedule, you have to ask how good this team can be... We are about to see with the week 7 showdown against SBWL.

7. Short Bus Window Lickers (7) - That was a nice bounce back win against the Legends, but I am still a little sheepish after that loss... However, this team has a chance now against Royal to prove what they got in store for season 37.

8. Brethern Krewe Redbeards (8) - They did what they were supposed to do and put up a 60+ point victory over the Youth Patriots. Week 7 brings the CPU team to town. Check back next week

9. Minnesota Vikings (9) - Buying into the Vikingz after that big Subversive win? I can't say I blame you, but before I do, I am going to watch this match-up against All Pro. The Vikingz have a chance to establish themselves as a top team.

10. Crib Midgets (10) - Okay, so they finally lost... But they didn't play tooooo awfully against a good Royal squad. I am not ready to say the Midgets are ready for the show, but that win over SBWL gives them the benefit of the doubt with me, at least for now. Next week may not be the case.

All I see is my notes and half a dozen edits... Interesting post!

At work and bored as it's really slow, so just for the heck of it, will make my own top-11 list...

Tier-1 teams:
1. Fighting Gamecocks - best team for the first half of the season hands down. Few if any teams can compete against FGC early to middle of the season. FGC's problem is that they don't maintain their high level of play later in the season and into the playoffs.

2. Whodey's Experiment - very good team that wins often. However, they pull a jekyll& high when playing top teams, winning big against some, then losing against others. Being only their 2nd in Gold, they still have a lot to prove, but a very good team currently.

3. Short Bus Window Lickers - very similar to FGC, meaning very good early-mid season, but then starts to fall into the "B" grade later in the season.

4. TazVikes Nordica - a solid team that does very well against all but the top teams. Like WE, pulls a Jekyll & Hyde against those top teams, doing well sometimes, laying a stink bomb other times.

5. Chicago 85'Bears - solid team with weak builds early, but mature come playoff time. However, too predictable to be a top contender.

6. All Pro Falcons - Solid team that has one bad loss. I expect them to rebound and do well this year.


Tier-2 Teams:
7. Minnesota Vikingz - vastly improved this season with their only loss to a good WE team and only by a TD.

8. Crib Midgets - just like the Vikingz, they are a vastly improved team this season. CM has generally been a good PWG team, but rarely did they make it into the Teir-1 category. If they keep playing like they are, might have a chance, if they can avoid any more ugly losses like they just had against RC.

9. Gold Test Squad - a less powerful version of FGC with their same late season weaknesses. Still, GTS is a solid team early-mid season.

10. Royal Cocks - not as good as their record shows due to having a weak early schedule. Only one decent win so far and a poor showing in scrims. And like FGC/SBWL, better early in the season than late.

11. Brethern Krewe Redbeards - an unproven team that is doing well, but needs some wins against better teams to show they are as good as their record shows.


Misc notes on other teams...
Hired Guns, Subversive Education, & Requiem Revolver are all S36 Tier-2 teams that have just lost steam this season. However, any of them could bounce back and have a good late season showing.

East-West and Down Under & Black Veil Peewee Players - both teams had a soft early schedule and don't appear to be as good as their record. Only time will tell, but they have a chance to prove me wrong.

Oklahoma Legends - was a better team last season in Silver than this season. What happened?

Love it. I love tier based posts and I think you pretty much got the correct teams in the correct tiers. My one area of disagreement is that I don't think Oklahoma was better last year. I just say they played weaker competition.

yes this season PWG has more depth which is why it more competitive but some of the good teams are noticeably better this season

...I don't believe that the west is the stronger conference anymore jkid is leading the way in the east, which looks to be his strongest FGC team in a long time! ...my tip is it jkid's time to shine for the main prize ~lookout whodey!

Look at their scrims late in the S36 season and then tell me if you still think they are as good?

Does FGC look any better early this season than they did early in past seasons? Not to me, just as dominate. The test comes late in the season, if they can keep their dominance, they have a great chance at gold. Same goes for LE.

Having played Oklahoma, I don't think they're as good as they should be. Although it was a scrimmage, they're a fully boosted team. Not sure if it's a build issue or a coaching issue, but they should be hauling ass. Also, I agree with the Black Veil rank. I know we're not as good as we could be, but we weren't prepared for Gold, either. I do expect to at least make it to the playoffs, though.

I don't look at scrims. I get scrims sent to me daily. I don't prepare for them. Don't tag. Don't customize plays. Scrims are meaningless to me when it comes to rankings.

The Patriots and Spazgazums are both coming off of gold trophies. If there are any teams that surprise me, it's them.

Very true, late season games are what count. FG does seem to have an early season advantage, not sure exactly why though.
