Welcome to S37's first ranking! I will continue my rankings throughout the year (assuming no major life changes). All of you who have done rankings in the past understand this, but some may not. Early season rankings are quite literally a shot in the dark. Coordinators change, agents change, strategies change, and so many other things. Please understand that early on these rankings are little more than an interest piece. As you all know, this ranking is loosely based on fact and largely based on opinion. Thanks for reading. Please post and comment!
1. All Pro Falcons - Raise your hand if you saw this one coming. All Pro is the reigning champions and won a dog fight in week 1. All Pro has already boosted and is showed something in week 1 a little different then their typical early screen game. I think A.I. is back on top of his game again and looks for another big year.
2. Fighting Gamecocks - jkid2 returns with a vengeance this year looking to go all the way after their tough loss to the TazVikes in round 2 of S36's playoffs. They are boosted and ready for another big season. Expecting another top year from FGC.
3. Short Bus Window Lickers - They started off with a sneaky match-up against RR and come back in week 2 to face Gerr's Bears, but so far they are 1-0 and I think they will advance to 2-0. SBWL had some glaring issues last year despite their top seed in the West. I think LE will correct some of his issues from last year and produce another elite team.
4. Whodey's Experiment - It isn't his fault he got the easiest match-up in all of PWG to open the season, but it does stop him from climbing inside the top 3 this week. WE was very good last year and was knocked out of the playoffs by the to-be champs. I think WE will bounce back with a big year and challenge for the top seed again.
5. Chicago 85' Bears - Say what you will, but Gerr always produces a great team. His week 1 victory over Subversive is a nice win early on in the year. The Bears looked to be headed to the chips last year before facing the Guns who went on to lose to the Falcons. I think the Bears will again be contenders in the West.
6. TazVikes Nordica - I definitely proud of my support for the TazVikes in S37. I picked them as my dark horse and they ran all the way to the conference finals before hitting the buzz saw Falcons. I expect them to again have a great defense, however without Gerr running that defense I think the TazVikes might take a small step back this year.
7. Hired Guns - They could arguably be higher on this list, but I didn't want to put them too high with the loss, but I am willing to be by the end of the year that loss won't look to bad when the Falcons are standing tall with only a few losses. The Guns had a magical run last year, but can they mix the potions together again and make it happen? Guess we will see....
8. Royal Cocks - They absolutely kicked the Bulldogs' teeth out during their week 1 match-up and I expect the same thing again in week 2 against OffTopica. Royal always puts together a competitive group and I expect the same in S37.
9. Gold Test Squad - GTS barely scraped their way out of week 1 against Birdman, but at the end of the day a win is a win. I expect GTS will be a competitive team this year with 10 or more wins, but I'm not sure GTS has the commitment from the leadership staff to be a top team.
10. Oklahoma Legends - The Legends have managed to avoid PWG for a while now, but finally decided to try their hand at the big leagues. They always boost fully and early, but sometimes tail off against the good teams later in the year. I think the Legends will be good, but not sure where they will end up in the difficult West.
