THE BLICA BULLETIN – Issue 10 – ‘Crusaders Crush Blicas’

Written By Herouk87

St Michael
– The near perfect Stirling Crusader’s provided a football spectacle today as they picked apart the hapless St Michael Blicas and moved one step closer to home field advantage in the playoffs. St Michael on the other hand had their biggest defeat of the season inflicted on them by the pinpoint accuracy of Jack MeHouff and this defeat will see them struggle to reach the playoffs as they sit in 11th place in the zeta conference.

The first points of the game came in the first quarter when MeHouff hit a wide open Dud S from 13 yards. From there Stirling never really looked back and took the game to St Michael. St Michael could hardly keep hold of possession with Stirling regaining the first fumble of the game, a fumble recovered by Baller T which resulted in a Wide right FG.

The second quarter saw much of the same with Anthony Gonzo getting in on the act with a huge catch and run of 55 yards. A fumble recovery by Bullfighton Acid was the only sign of Blica resistance as Stirling saw out the half stronger than ever with another two touchdowns from MeHouff. The first a short pass to Harrison-David Dowds quickly followed by a second TD connection to Dub S who beat the usually strong Blica defense. The game was realistically over at the half, score 31-0.

St Michael started the second half miserably to compound their already low hopes. On only the second play of the half, Eric MartinsQB was intercepted by Anquan Volquez which gave the Crusaders the ball in excellent position. However backup Maisey LeBlanc could only guide Stirling to 3 points as Stirling began to ease back. LeBlanc did get his touchdown on the next Crusaders drive though; a second touchdown for David Dowds left the fans wondering if a record score was on the cards. St Michael continued their dismal display with a second MartinsQB interception followed by another INT to finish the quarter.

The fourth quarter was equally one sided and saw another 10 points for Stirling, including a well deserved touchdown for Hugh G. Wreckshin as the “Blica Heads” saw a “50 burger” for the first time this season. Stirling eventually running out easy victors 51-0

The players of the game could have honestly been anyone in a Crusaders uniform as their superb display warrants all the praise it deserves. St Michael’s standout player was Acid as his 11 tackles and a fumble recovery led his team and he can hold his head high despite the defeat. Next for St Michael are the Antwerp jokers in a must win game if the Blicas are to make the playoffs. Antwerp won 41-0 last year and the game looks to be equally difficult for the Blicas.
