The EAST is shaping up pretty much like I said it would in my Pre-Season EAST Preview...

http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=4816156

There are a few differences though...

1. Chicago Window Licking Bears - as predicted, the CWLB are still the odds on favorite to win the East with the current #1 defense and #4 offense in all of Gold. However, they are not a run-away favorite like I made them out to be due to some stiff competition from other East teams.

2. Fighting Gamecocks - are looking better than expected as they don't have a single loss this season yet, including all scrimmage games. Will give the CWLB a run for their money in the East.

3. Baytown Bulldogs - another team that is better than expected. I knew they would be good, but I thought the loss of Legster would drop them a notch, but it really has not. Their only loss so far was to the CWLB in a close one, and then they avenged that loss by beating the CWLB in the Official Tourney. Could easily repeat as the East champions as they are that good.

4. Sons Of Anarchy - started off really hot, but have struggled against the "A" grade Gold teams. Are one of the top "B" level Gold teams, but needs to have more success against the "A" grade teams or make a run in the playoffs before they can make the move to the next level.

5. Coastal Empire Pirates - though they have a good record, I had thought they would be better. They have lost to nearly every boosted Gold team so far and have struggled to win against NBNC teams. They are only doing well due to the lack of full boosted/CEQ teams in Gold. They need to step things up if they want to make any waves in Gold.

6. The Portland T-Rex - a another team that is only doing well due to the weaker Gold league. However, they are only a partial boost team and it is their 1st season in Gold, so could make some waves next season if they are able to go full boost/CEQ and improve upon the lessons they are learning this season.

7. Hardly Athletic - another full boost team that is only doing well due to the weaker Gold league. Similar to CEP, I thought they would be a little better this season as they have lost some games to NBNC teams that I would have expected them to win. They have played a lot of scrim games, so hopefully will learn and improve on those lessons.

8. Dallas "SBWL" Cowboyz - LE's NBNC team. Is one of the better NBNC teams and is a challenge for some full or partial boosted teams due to LE's experience in Gold.

9. D-Town Demolition - another boosted team that is doing well mainly due to the weaker Gold league. However, they have had a tough schedule so far and can make a late season run for the playoffs if they can beat the NBNC teams

10. Tennessee Titanz - a NBNC team.

11. Cleveland BrownZ - a NBNC team.

12. Lunch Box - a NBNC team, but not part of LE's NBNC league.

13. Tampa Bucz - a CPU heavy NBNC team.

14. Steel City Blitzin' Dots - a CPU team.

15. Maine Grenadiers - a CPU team.

16. Spurbury Evil Shenanigans - a CPU team.

Yeah, we are only partially boosted, kind of disappointing really. We have learned a lot, but not as much as I would have liked. Hard to say what really works when you have a half boosted team ya know? How much is difference in levels, vs how much is actual game tactics?

Still, I am actually interested in peewee again, it is cool to have more than 1 or 2 games to game plan for during the season. Silver was dying due to lack of competition.

Thanx for the reviews Gerr, looks about right.

I'm a little late but great write-up!

I think SOA will always struggle against the "A" grade teams in the division because we have decided as a team for the past few seasons to not buy custom equipment to cut costs for everyone. I would expect us to struggle against teams like Baytown, FG, and you guys but I feel we have played pretty well defensively vs the A grade teams.

Good luck to all the teams in the playoffs coming up!
