We can not select players from our own team! Here is the format, we can try.

Here is the first crack at the proposed format. It is still subject to change based on the input i receive from all of you.

-----------------

1) By 06-29 12 PM CST - Nominate Pro Bowl Rep:
Nominate someone from each team to be the lead/Rep. The Reps will be the point of contact for me and will be team representatives when it comes to the Pro Bowl. Please choose the reps carefully - someone who is active and motivated to be a part of conducting this Pro Bowl.

3) By 07-05 12 PM CST - Nominate Pro Bowl Council:
Pro Bowl Council are the people who get to vote for the probowl. 10 people per team are allowed to vote. These can be players or GMs affiliated with the team. Each team's Pro Bowl Rep will be responsible for submitting this information to the admins by the deadline.

4) By 07-11 12PM CST - Nominate Players for Pro Bowl:
Nominate players who are eligible for Pro Bowl consideration. Each team will nominate top 5 players at each position. They cannot pick a player from their own team.

4) 07-12 AM - Publish list of Pro Bowl eligible players

5 HB

10 G
5 NT
5 DT
10 DE

I like the format. It would allow people other than owners and GMs to get involved in the league more. All of it sounds good to me Jimbo. I'd say move forward with it.

Just to clearify, are we talking about seperate teams for each conference, or one for the entire league?

entire league is easier I think admin wise unless you want to have somebody do it for the east and I will do the west

People are just gonna vote based on highest stats aren't they? So then the pro bowl team will be the same as the league leaders.

Certainly stats would be very important, but people can compile various stats and do a little analysis to come up with their picks. For example, you might have a lineman who leads the league in tackles, but has a dozen missed tackles and no sacks and few hurries. You might prefer another player with 5 less tackles, 15 hurries and 6 sacks. Then there's other things to consider like special teams play that might inflate stats, or # of plays per game.

Looks like a good format, I mean ofcourse it will be somewhat based on stats but how far do you expect people to go when their voting for peopel on other teams? Im sure alot of guys will have a hard-time just thinking of someone to vote for. Its all in good fun lets do it but try not to take it too seriously maybe?

I know how to make it easier for everyone, instead of voting based on stats, just vote for Stewart Bradley, every position. With that hair, how could he lose?

I couldn't name a single player on another team right now without looking at rosters and stats. Sorry.

Well then you're just being lazy, I named a perfectly good player that you should vote for in the post right above yours.

This doesn't have to be about owners and GMs. We don't even have to get involved for this to work. I'm sure there are some player owners on each team that want to get more involved in the league.

Agreed, i think its a good idea to nominate some players from every team, 10 seems liek a bit much, maybe 5 would be enough. I would like to nominate my 5 most active players I think it would be cool for them to get involved more for sure.

Not necessarily. For instance, those who have played against the Ice have overly inflated stats compared to those in the Eastern conference or those in the West who haven't met them. A good player with a bit worse stats than the league leader (who had one good game against the Ice, and a few pretty decent games) would get my nod in such circumstances.

Personally, I'm going to vote for models of consistency, not the guy who gets 3 forced fumbles in one game and does nothing the other 7.

Hopefully people will look at the Travman's stats when voting for a SS...
