As you can tell by the thread title, I am starting up a new Power Rankings for the second half of the season. This first post will give out some awards, as well as who's hot, who's not, and who is still in the playoff hunt. My second one will be the power rankings for week 9.

Teams that are practically assured of making the playoffs:
Suva Hawks- they have the most talent of any team, and despite losing to the Headhunters, are the team to beat.
Sacred Haven Knights- need to become a little more balanced to be a big threat, but are tough and very talented.
Hawthorn Headhunters- round out the top 3, beating both of the teams above, who I also include in my top 3.
Future Llamas of America- are a top 5 team, but it looks like they can't compete with the top 3.

Teams that might as well pack it in:
Wellington Assassins- haven't won yet, and I predict that they won't win at all this season.
Redcliff Razamanaz- Should compete next season. Got a late start on recruiting, and it doomed them.
Solomon Islands Pack- See above
Berlin Devine Right- Heartbreaker losses that will hurt even more when they get screwed out of the playoffs.

Teams that I think will squeeze in:
Christchurch Parrots- Like Sacred Haven Knights, but just slightly worse than them.
Sunshine Coast Condors- They have a strong balanced offense, and they beat who they should.
South Sydney Rabbitohs- Also talented, and the tie bumps them ahead of any teams with the same wins.
Sandersville WarChickens- Started off rough, but have been getting it together as of late. They surely have the talent to do damage in the playoffs, as long as they make it.

Teams on the outside looking in:
Nottingham Hoods- Easy 1st half schedule hides their weaker team.
Lincoln Breeze- The talent is there, but the record isn't.
Saipan Storm- In the same boat as Nottingham.
GERMAN WILDDOGS- The tie just makes them slightly better than Berlin, but not much...

Awards:
Best record- Hawthorn Headhunters. Undefeated record, and just win somehow.
Worst record- Wellington Assassins. Sorry, but they just SUCK!
Best QB- Brian Beck, CP. Doesn't have the yards, but has the most TDs and other high averages.
Best RB- Scottie "Flea" Pimpin- SH. Tops in every RB stat that matters.
Best WR/TE- Aaron Payne, LB. He's a model of reliability.
Best O Lineman- Ricky Wells, HH. Most pancakes, and just manhandles anything in his way!
Best O Line- Hawthorn Headhunters. With Ricky Wells and Oliver Spade(5th in pancakes), not to mention two others with 30+ pancakes.
Best D Lineman- Antonio Coleman, SHK. Most sacks, hurries, tied with most forced fumbles with 3. He even has 2 INTs and an INT returned for a TD!
Best D Line- ???
Best LB- Bobby Bushe, SWC. Plenty of tackles, and also has 3 FF, not to mention 3 PDs.
Best Secondary- Hawthorn Headhunters. They have the most INTs in the league, and just shutdown opposing WRs.
Best CB/FS/SS- Dee Rivis, SCC. Most INTs and PDs. Stay away from this level 18!
Best KR/PR- Chris George, RB, RR. Has made his presence felt in only 3 games with the Razamanaz, having 2 KR TDs.
Best K- Carl Panzaram, SHK. This guy is 21/22 this year, perfect on PATs, and has made 4 tackles!
Best P(tie)- Steve Weatherford, SWC. Most punts, and tied for highest P average.
Newer Player, HH. Tied for P average, and happens to be my guy as well

Well guys, I need help in somebody putting down who the best D Line is. Also, if you have any qusetions or want me to include another award, then post and tell me. Now I head off to type up the week 9 rankings.

I would like to nominate the SHK Defensive Line...They have given up a total of 227.5 rushing yards this season(28.4 yds/gm), 9 sacks, 54 hurries, and 36 tackle for losses. I don't know how these stats stack up against the other defensive lines but I'm biased anyways

Hey Seki, name me who else you would put up there for O line? Here are the stats for my O line, who I chose:
Ricky Wells- 130 pancakes
Oliver Spade- 87 pancakes
Kareem Abdu Jabar- 40 pancakes
Larry "Bigg Plimp" Allen- 30 pancakes
I rotate the other OT based on who I am playing, but one has 19 and the other has 14.

Its really hard to say who the best offensive line is because the only stat for blocking is pancakes, which favors a run blocking offensive line. There are some teams in this league who haven't given up a sack, which I also think is a sign of a good offensive line, even though they haven't piled up as much pancakes.

I agree m0t0, but I am basing this off of pancakes. My team is roughly balanced, but we did run it plenty in blowout wins. Go Blue had a point on me. Based on team pancakes, Suva Hawks win. If you look at the STARTERS however, Hawthorn has the most pancakes. So I would say that Suva has depth, while Hawthorn has quality (not by a whole lot, mind you).

EDIT- Guys, I'm sorry about skipping week 9 rankings, I totally forgot. Since week 9 is officially over, I am going straight to week 10.

Well, week 9 is done, and the playoff picture has cleared up very slightly. Like I said before, if you can't get 8 wins, then you are out of it for sure. 8 wins will need a tiebreaker, and 9 will get you through. Now saying that, let's get on with the rankings:

1. Hawthorn Headhunters- Might ruin 3 teams' playoff chances, 2 of them in back to back weeks.
2. Suva Hawks- They love to run up the score and scare their next opponent. It works!
3. Sacred Haven Knights- They will beat down on Solomon Islands, who are reeling from Suva.
4. Sunshine Coast Condors- Very strong offense with a better defense.
5. Future Llamas of America- Great gameplanning has helped them out up to this point.
6. Christchurch Parrots- Should be an easy win for them.
7. Sandersville WarChickens- 4 wins in a row, but can they beat Suva and make it 5?
8. South Sydney Rabbitohs- Two easy games will help out their record.
9. Lincoln Breeze- Look to be geared up for a 2nd half run.
10. Nottingham Hoods- Do they have the talent and OC/DC to beat Lincoln.
11. Berlin Devine Right- Lack of chemistry might doom them to watching the playoffs.
12. Saipan Storm- Black clouds are over their heads, they need shelter or else.
13. GERMAN WILDDOGS- WIN OUT OR NO PLAYOFFS...
14. Redcliff Razamanaz- Have slightly more talent than the Pack.
15. Solomon Islands Pack- Will need to beat Recliff in two games to move up to 14.
16. Wellington Assassins- They are only good for providing hope and dissipating anger and frustration for every other team in the league.

We have several thrillers, but I like the #4-#5 matchup that could very well happen again in the playoffs. I like Sunshine Coast over the Future Llamas in a game that should be competitive until the 4th Quarter.

Watch out for Berlin. We play all the teams in front of us still so we only need a couple upsets and we will make the post season.
