I remember a few of these in the past.. capping Kicking and Punting should be pretty easy now.

anyone else thinking of building one?

I would be tempted if I wasn't obsessed with Punter builds... but I think it is possible to build a capable punter/kicker and save a roster spot.

punting is worthless as it is for the majority of the season.. the K/P was abandoned because people found that it was better to just not punt than to put in a guy who averages 18 yards a punt and gets that punt returned at least 10 yards most times. by playoffs a good punter build can be helpful, but only if punting/strength/confidence are worked on solely

I've always been a fan of punting for the reason you just stated.. It's all about the playoffs IMO... and I've built good Pee Wee punters that average 28-30 yards a punt in the postseason...

Now we can hit Level 15 by day 34 and have accelerated development and training.. should be easy to average over 30 yards a punt by the playoffs. Pee Wee strategy will change next season...

I brought this up because the accelerated player dev may make it possible to build a combo kicker that might be able to average a decent punt average... I remember seeing a punter/kicker that was actually pretty good in the past.. I think it was DirtyMIke who built him back in S15 or so.. maybe it was Kaerey.. can't remember but i remember seeing a 26 yard average in the playoffs.

I've seen some good late season punters that were pretty adept at hitting some coffin corners.

yep... . also seen my punter hit a 38+ yard punt when backed up into the endzone..

but hey.. what do I know?.. I think all other Pee Wee Gold teams should NOT carry a punter. Only Crackertown.

Although I'm speaking more of back when it was 3 yards and a cloud of dust. A good punter won me a few games. I probably wasn't going to get those 4 yards anyway, so even though I'm at the 35 I'd punt...pin them down at the 1 or 2...4 plays later they're punting from the 5 and I suddenly have the ball at the 15 or 20 b/c they didn't have a punter.

Now, though, there's about a 50/50 chance you can pick-up the 4th & 10.

You have the flip side argument also...

Now that you start the season at level 4 and are 15 come playoff time, plus with the extra SP's from boosting and more powerful training system, a combo Kicker/Punter might become more of a possibility.

Think of it this way, most PW kickers miss about half their FG's no matter how well they are built, so rather than build a supreme kicker & punter, make a serviceable combo char and just us them sparingly.

yep, i agree 100%.. I've seen games where I've had a 100+ yard advantage over the opposing team with no punter.. Net yards advantage from punting.

I believe when the playoffs hit and the dots are more well rounded.. that 4th down conversion % probably drops too.

Long live punting!

I agree again.. i'd rather have punter and kicker.

was just curious if anyone was going to try the dual Kicker/Punter again.

Actually, I am trying a dual kicker/punter...

1st cap Kicking plus EQ
1st cap Punting
1st cap Strength
Vision & Confidence as high as I can get them, hopefully 30+.

Limiting my FG's to short ones since anything 25+ only hits about 50% of the time even with a full Kicker. Also will limit punting to deep in my own side.

My 85'B Kicker/Punter went 151/151 for PA's and got the Kicking MVP. Granted his punting stats were not good, but a tweak for next season should make them a little better, hopefully to at least 20 yards per punt average.
