GAMES OF THE WEEK

West Virginia MountainMen at Sahara Sandstorm
These are two very even teams with Sahara getting a slight nod on paper with a higher rated offense and defense. However, the MountainMen have played some of the best teams and held their own while Sahara has had it fairly easy. The experience of the MountainMen will serve them well as they look to pull of the upset and Sahara's turnover prone offense plays giveaway with disastrous results.

West Virginia 20 - Sahara 17

Zambia Zombies at Zimbabwe Mighty Zulu Nation
Some of the lustre was taken off of this matchup as Zimbabwe was tripped up by Morningside last week, however this should still be a great matchup. Zambia features the top rated offense and defense in the league while Zimbabwe features the second rated rushing offense. This will be a low scoring game featuring some great hitting. Look for Zambia reserve LB, Mike Guillotine, to have a huge day as he gets into double digit tackes, recovers a fumble and gets a Pick 6 with time running out to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat!

Zambia 19 - Zimbabwe 13

Zulu Warriors at Ethiopian Food Mongers
If two winless teams tie, will anyone care? Ethopia gives up 40 pts a game and scores 1.7. Zulu is moderately better at 31 allowed while earning 3.3. Edge, Zulu. Both offenses get a chance to score a TD, Zulu might even get two!

Zulu 14 - Ethiopia 7

THE REST

Morningside Candysnatcher at Tripoli Leathernecks
Morningside runs into that inevitable letdown after celebrating the Zimbabwe victory a little too hard. While neither team is an offensive powerhouse, Tripoli is able to get their run game going and hold Morningside's offense in check.

Tripoli 24 - Morningside 13

TORO'S TEXANS at West Nile Virus
West Niles anemic passing attack and porous defense spell doom for the Virus. The TORO's are able to pour it on and keep pace with WV as the favorites for the 4th seed.

TORO's 28 - West Nile 10

Algeria Tigers at Gambia Piranhas
Eh? I really don't like either team, but I'll pick Gambia because that's what I'm not getting paid to do, pick teams. Both are fairly inept but Gambia is winning and has a decent passing game. However, I like Algeria a bit more as they've faced a murderous schedule and are better than their record shows. Look for the Tigers to pull the upset.

Algeria 17 - Gambia 7

Charlie Don't Surf at Burundi Broncs
These are two of my favorite teams. Charlie's offense faces an uphill battle to overcome a withering Bronco attack. On the flip side, Charlies strength is also a stout defense. In the end, I think Lady Duff wins that day as she's proven she has the leg to carry a classic defensive battle.

Charlie 12 - Broncos 9

Monterey Magic at Salty Shellback
Wow! Did Monterey choke against Gambia last week or what? I don't know what is wrong with Monterey, but it seems like they are at the point where morale just snowballs downward without any help in sight to stop the bleeding. The Salty are the dogs on paper, but Monterey are just dogs.

Salty 13 - Monterey 3

TuNice, the Bronco's let me down last week, so I'm picking them to lose this week. It's the old Prisoners Strategy at work. Tit for Tat. If you want to be picked to win, make me look good and win when I pick you. Or at least, make me look bad when I pick you to lose.

What about Sahara then?

And I dont know why, but for some reason I find myself extremely attached to the Broncos even though im not even on their team lol.

Well, both WV and Sahara won last week...do you want me to predict a tie?

Consider it motivation for the Sandstorm, bulletin board material if you will
